Top Achievers in Course List (State Ranks)

Double state ranks not good enough? :'( In any case, huge congratulations! If this was last year, your 96 would've been it ;) (and you'd be one of the few triple state rankers out there)

    Should I Drop Economics

Keep to the end if possible. I was in a similar position (hated eco essays to death) but eco ended up being my best subject (state ranked lol). Not because I have some magic eco talent - but because eco, as you may have noted - is a rather straightforward subject that doesn't require a lot of...

    Should I take the risk?

There's a lot of physio students/qualified physiotherapists in my course. You won't stop yourself from getting into med just because you did physio. Also, the "advantage" you mention is small - science is a small part of GAMSAT and physio's also study a bit of science. Nothing stops you from...

Regarding medicine/dentistry offers from various institutions (UAC, QTAC, VTAC etc)

Re: Regarding medicine/dentistry offers from various institutions (UAC, QTAC, VTAC et 1. You would only get the one that is highest priority. However it's possible, say in a scenario where you get into dent 1st round (and this was 2nd priority) but not med. You can then be open to having a med...

    Should I take the risk?

I would do a physio degree (or any other degree), get good grades and look to swap to med (via umat or gamsat). I wouldn't do med sci at UNSW because like you said - risks of unemployment are high and the advantage of doing med sci at UNSW over physio (I think?) is that it lets you be considered...

    JMP Interviews - 2016 Entry

I study in the JMP atm :) You don't get to read the actual questions they ask you. All you get is like a piece of paper explaining what the station is about (2 minutes to do this - from door to door). Not all stations involve you answering some questions. In one station, you stand up and solve...

    2015ers Chit-Chat Thread

Grats! :) Might bump into you (esp. if you live in the colleges at the Armidale campus). The place is pretty small and tight nit after all.

    University of Adelaide medicine interview

That's about how long mine went for - the medicine interview. The dent interview is different though. There's just 1 station and it went for like 20/30 minutes? (I don't remember, but you can check it on their site).

    JMP Interviews - 2016 Entry

Don't have a link or anything of the sort. It was medentry that stated this and I just go by what they say. Unless they secretly changed their selection process, I'm almost certain that this is how they'll do it this year

    JMP Interviews - 2016 Entry

For JMP, it's 100% interviews (ATAR/UMAT threshold). This might have changed but that was the case last year

    Lol is anyone bored already?

For a lot of you, you'll prob spend the time playing video games. I did that, and at the end I felt like I played video games for the sake of video games, not because I enjoyed them...(since you having nothing else to do...) This is your longest holiday, so do something productive ahaha

    Med Interview Invitations 2015/16

Wow nice. Are you rural? Because last year the cutoff for interstate applicants (at Uadel) was 95%ile, lol.

    JMP Interviews - 2016 Entry

At least you won't be consumed alive by mosquitoes (there was an infestation at Newcastle when I did my interview there...). :D

For those who have sat it: Is umat easier than gamsat or other way around ?

You guys didn't even sit the GAMSAT... Regardless, that's what they say - that GAMSAT is harder. I'd prob take it with a grain of salt though. You're competing with different people. Arguably, the UMAT is more competitive since you're competing with everyone (including those sitting GAMSAT)...

99.90 |Chemistry trial questions sorted to dot point + answers

Bump. Multiple similar questions were found in this year's chemistry exam as well in the resource I'm sharing. This is partly because there can only be so many questions that BOSTES can think of and create. You're sure to find this document useful if you set time to do these questions :)
