^ Had same experience as you lol, buss1001 was my first comm subject (and only comm subject in my first sem) so my comm degree got off to quite a bad start since I hated and sucked at essay writing. Once you get past 1001 and 1002, you'll be fine and depending on your major you wont have to do...

Mon completely free, Thursday only one lecture, Friday only one lecture. As someone doing engineering, not bad :D Although 9-6 Tues and Weds, but I reckon it's worth.

They're going to be emailed out FROM the 18th. So not necessarily today. Still haven't received mine yet :(

This is actually a big problem that I had with first year maths. I believe I had timing problems for every single one of my exams, even though the content wasn't actually that hard. So for next semester, try to work on your speed.

Prelim year: Hoped for 80+ ATAR, wanted to do Engineering at ADFA. HSC: Hoped for 90+, wanted to do Engineering at UNSW/USYD. Ended up with Comm/Engg at USYD. ... Should have gone to UWS.

Damn, they must be gutted that you're not crying over them and that you have no sympathy for them. Poor corporations :(

Oh yeah what the hell. I just remember seeing a decimal point so I just assumed they went to 1 dp, but now I just went to check my marks and they all end with .0's. USYD pls. So I guess yeah, it will get rounded up to 85 from an 84.70.

Well (at USYD at least) it gets rounded to 1 dp. So if you got 84.70 then (at USYD) you'd get 84.7

I just did economics this semester and know people who did economics last year (in high school), and the stuff that they knew got covered incredibly quickly (same timeline OzKo stated).

I know, I can see why it's a thing but I really do think that the government needs to restrict the amount of people getting this. As of now, I'm pretty sure most people are eligible to receive it, it should probably be changed to only those who need it the most (I guess OP would fall into that...

Square isn't exactly being nice about it lol, but he is right. If you don't have the funds to do it, then don't. At usyd, the VERY first question they ask you in the application process is "How much money do you have available for going on exchange?" and you can't even include the OS-HELP Loan...
