Anyone know when they'll start releasing timetables as well?

    Aerospace Engineering

Of course they do. From my (admittedly limited) experience, a lot of the work is maintenance-based and may not be exactly what you think of when you think of aeronautical engineering.

What degree do I need to get a job that earns enough money to...

18 replies in and and no one's suggested becoming a hooker? Serious response (so I don't get banned): if you're good at maths and thinking quick, trading is very lucrative. You can make great money at prop traders like Jane Street. Of course you'd need to be exceptionally talented...

    Uni vs. High School

Yes, it's quite cliquey. Good if you manage to get in groups early, not so good if you don't. I don't think they're as condescending as you think about school, but they're just going to hang with people from their school or related schools just because they already would have connected with...

Is chemical engineering a good idea in Australia?

Unfortunately also agree with strawberrye and the others (soz square), opportunities are there but it's also quite competitive. That said, it's certainly not a bad idea since there's so much competition in every field now

Transferring into B.Commerce or economics from B.Arts

Yeah, a D average should be more than enough to get into combined with commerce (not sure about eco, but I assume it's the same).

Course Enrollment and background knowledge...Help me :(

Nah 5 subjects is right (for 1st year). MATH1003 and MATH1005 count as half subjects each, so you're fine in that regard. Not a BCST student so not entirely sure about the other subjects, but it does seem reasonable.

    Transfer Question

Not 100% sure about this, so you might want to see what others say. I would say 75+ should be enough, but I think it is possible to get in with a slightly lower WAM.

Ranks these uni's for Commerce and Economics.

Do you mean it's retarded in that it shouldn't exist, or are you saying that it actually doesn't exist? If it's the former then I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter if you think it's dumb or not because it still exists and you'll need to...

    Summer Vacation Internship's 2017/2018

Yes, banks like STEM degrees as well (you don't get much diversity of views/thoughts if your whole team is comm/law...). Just make sure you are able to articulate why you want to work in finance and not in engineering, and also be able to prove your interest in finance.

    Commerce/Economics VS Commerce

If you're talking about internships with firms, I'd have to disagree with this point. I think EC's are really important for employers. I've had part-time jobs/internships, and have gotten rejected from other internships because of my lack of EC's. Of course there was a bit more to it, but it...

Sweet. I did 1905, but that was a loooong time ago (for reference, I'm now in my 4th year...) but shouldn't be too bad hopefully. I usually try and make it to labs/tutes for subjects though, hate doing study at home.

lol yeah came across that one too, definitely an interesting sounding subject. I think as long as ECMT1020 lecture is recorded, that might actually not be bad. I'll just need to double check with usyd that I'm actually allowed to do ECON1006. Thanks for your help :)

    USyd Chatter Thread 2017

Haha every bit of info is helpful. I'm allowed to do ECON1002 (and have done it), but not sure if I'm allowed to do other ECON units. I can add ECON1005 in my UoS selection in Sydney Student (I assume this means I'm allowed to do it) but I have never heard of ECON1005 until tonight so I'm a bit...

    USyd Chatter Thread 2017

I do comm/engg, so I thought it'd be only business school units, apparently not though since I can also do ECMT units. I can do ACCT, CLAW, ECMT, ECOS, FINC, IBUS, INFS, MKTG, QBUS and WORK units. Am I even still allowed to do junior electives though? I'm in my 4th year and according to cusp I...

Does anyone know of any (relatively) easy finance/commerce subjects that I can do next sem? Thinking about doing ECMT1020 or INFS1000, but not sure what other 2 subjects to pick. Maybe Trading & Dealing (FINC3014)? QBUS2810? Anyone got any ideas?

    decent uni part time jobs

Agreed. It's also a fair bit of money, but hours could be long.
