Yeah I think with humanities it requires some level of mature thinking that many may not develop until Yr11 and 12. Also I think relating content to life experiences helps too, which younger years might not be able to do. I'm surprised there aren't any accelerated kids doing Visual Arts. There...

Perhaps something relating to your own interests or personal experiences would be a good topic for your pip? For example, something to do with music you like, a genre of tv shows you watch, an aspect of your own culture, etc

For legal studies we haven't received any textbooks, just information booklets so I've been taking notes from those. However, I think a textbook should be enough so long as it covers all syllabus points. If your teacher provides cases, articles, any important info not provided by textbooks, etc...
