Drying the conical flask during titration

Oh ok thanks deswa. I didn't think of the moles reacting! Yes it makes sense now :) I just compared it to the burette cleaning to prevent impurities and dilution and it seemed a bit odd that it wasn't being cleaned as much.

Drying the conical flask during titration

My textbook says that the conical flask used to hold the standard solution only has to be washed with distilled water and doesn't have to be dried. I've also checked up on some notes and most of them say that drying the flask is unnecessary too. I don't really understand why? Doesn't the...

    Veterinary Science?

I have a couple of friends who are looking to get into vet science this year at usyd and most of them seem to do around 1-2 hours per week at vet clinics. One of them even spent a couple of days at a farm in outer Sydney for experience (this was during the summer break though). I think the...

Mayor insists that NSB + NSG should become partially selective schools?

I don't think they should make it partial selective even though it would be economically easier to ease the enrollment issue. They could just keep expanding the existing non selectives in that area. The rank they would change to would depend on the amount of local students they'd allow into the...

    The Old Change thread

Oh I actually think my dad has one! He found it when we were renovating. It was scratched and gross though

Year 12 2013 Chit Chat Thread

Re: The p00n thread Thanks for drawing my attention. You did not just say that. It's just the nature of those subjects to be like that though and rote learning is necessary at certain points. People who do those subjects may be choosing them because they're interested in them rather than...

Year 12 2013 Chit Chat Thread

Re: The p00n thread Hard work is required for sciences/maths as well though (as hard work doesn't mean rote learning...) Plus don't rote heavy subjects tend not to scale that well?

Year 12 2013 Chit Chat Thread

Re: The p00n thread I was actually gonna agree with that point but then wouldn't girls do other things that guys won't necessarily do? I do sport twice a week (by myself) and I think that's impressive cos....I don't like sport lol. But I do other things lol. Btw are gay guys actually that...

People don't know HOW to learn.

There can still be bad teachers, even at high ranking schools. And sometimes it's not the teachers themselves but perhaps the way they go about to teach a subject (like maths). Is the 2 hours in total or per subject? I'm pretty sure about 3/4 of the people in my school study over that limit each...

How to Study ? Help needed

For Economics, there's two main textbooks. Riley has more information (and the layout is kinda horrible) but Dixon is easier to comprehend. For Biology, Biology in Context goes deeper and provides more information as well as quite a few practice questions at the end of each section. Biology In...

People don't know HOW to learn.

She had bad spelling. Past tense. She could've also had really deep insight into the texts too. People can still attempt extensions if they want to, though some schools restrict the available numbers. I think more people would approve of compulsory english if it were actually learning...

    What's your political personality

Re: What’s your political personality Umm Ghandi, really?! The questions seemed a bit random....

    Misfits

I haven't watched season 3 but season 2 gave me the feeling that the rest of the series wouldn't be that great. And yes new characters can be great and do need time to get used to but I liked many of the originals

    Sherlock Season 2!!

Hounds made me feel a bit awks when I was watching it and there was a dog barking outside.... My fav is probably 2x01 but 2x03 was definitely the most thrilling one.

    Misfits

Only the first one was good.

People don't know HOW to learn.

This only works in an ideal situation where the teacher is able to give the student exactly the amount/style of information that suits the student. I think the student will have to have to understand the content taught in class fully as well. Also, areas of memorisation will often require more...

    Do you use Skwirk?????

I used to use it too but it was alright. Like it's alright just to skim over the free content but that's probably about it. They do set it out nicely into little subheadings but I'd say it's probably better to learn from textbooks the school gives you. Or just class notes.
