    MX1 - 2020 Syllabus - changes + additions

I can honestly say that I have no clue as to why NESA had to change the syllabi for all of the maths topics - it should just stay as it is I reckon.

    Help with Induction???

I'm not sure why but I'm having trouble with factorising it and proving it (n =k+1 - after you sub in n=k) - smh...

What do I do in year 11?

What I would suggest for 2 Unit Maths and Extension 1 (If you are doing those - if not ignore this) is that you go over all of your Year 10 5.2/5.3 content in these upcoming holidays (especially Algebra, Trigonometry and Graphs) these are massive components of Year 11 content - and the sooner...

    Integral of a quarter-circle

Thank you. On a completely unrelated note - how do you type in that font with the equations - I'm curious lol - it will make it 10 times easier next time I inevitably ask for help ;)

    Integral of a quarter-circle

Find the area bounded by the curve y = (4-x^2)^1/2, the x-axis and the y-axis in the first quadrant. I know what the integral is, but whenever I try to solve it I end up with 16/3 - when the answer should be pi units^2 Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Help im in a crisis

Yeah - Don't drop to general. One of my friends who was doing the HSC in 2017 did general and got like around 83 and got scaled down to the 70's apparently so keep Advanced. Since you are already doing well in Economics and Ext 1 English that should really help your ATAR in the long run if...

    Please Help (Greatest Coefficient)

Question is Find the greatest coefficient of (2x - 1)^5. I GET THE CONCEPT BEHIND GREATEST COEFFICIENT/ GREATEST TERM - However when you simplify this out (after factorials etc.) you will end up with -[6-k/2k]. 1. As I go to solve for k, should I use Tk +1 >1 or should I use Tk+1 < 1? Also...

    Ratios of Binomial Expansions

Hey HeroWise, the answer is apparently 14 for this one - idk why - the working out looks fine to me (The question is from 5D in Cambridge 3U Year 12)

    Ratios of Binomial Expansions

I should be able to; When you simplify 16C13/16C11 and change it into factorial notation - how does the 5! and 11! get on the denominator while 3! and 13! get on the the denominator? Sorry if its a dumb question - just need an explanation please.
