Arts/Law USYD vs. Law UTS with scholarship

I'm studying Arts/Law at USyd, and love it. I know a few friends at UTS who are studying law, some like it, some on scholarships - who wish they went to USyd instead. It's a tough job market, and overall I find USyd law students to have better opportunities than UTS law students (not to say that...

    GOVT 2nd year units?

International Security is great! Its' taught by Gil - he has legendary status in the government department. Other than that, for semester one, I'd recommend Globalisation, Governance and the State - John Milker is an amazing lecturer and its' a very interesting course. IF you're looking for...

Indian student almost murdered by African gang in unprovoked attack

Disgusting. Racial or not, this is absolutely horrible and it enrages me a great deal.

    Zoe's law - Foetal rights

Well Funkshen, I disagree with current human rights legislation that defines life starting at birth. I believe, as Christopher Hitchens did, that life starts from the moment of conception. We as a society arbitrarily decide to ignore the life growing inside a mother's womb. Also Crobat, I...

Can Labor win the 2016 federal election?

Abbott will be supreme leader of the land for many, many more years to come.

    Zoe's law - Foetal rights

Why should the circumstances of your conception determine your human rights? The unborn baby is just as much a victim as the mother.

Social effects of getting a 99+ atar?

Everyone in my family and my family friends thought I was average during my highschool years..then when I tell them my ATAR they suddenly changed their whole attitude towards me. When I told them I made it into USyd Law, they were extremely surprised lol, and I tend to get listened to and more...

    JD entry.

Nope, all that matters is the WAM. You can go to UWS and study Arts and get the medal and then make the USyd JD (in theory).

UTS law vs USYD arts --> law

Well done on your ATAR! Coming in the top 1.6% of the state is no easy feat! IMO, If you want to study law at USyd, then go with USyd Arts, because its' MUCH easier to get a high WAM in an Arts degree at USyd than it is with a law degree at UTS, thus making it easier to transfer to Usyd law.

98.70 - Competitive for second year transfer into LLB?

My friend was in a similar boat to you. He had a 98.40 ATAR, and studied BComm in 2012. He recieved a 80.35 WAM, and managed a transfer. Achieving those marks in commerce is difficult and takes hard work - probably more or less, the same amount of commitment you underwent to achieve your high...

    2013 Federal election

Re: 2013 Australian Federal election It looks more and more likely that Abbott will be PM in 227 days. Can't wait to rub it into the lefties on campus.

    How to enter Dentistry

To be a dentist, you have to do the GAMSAT - it's a postgraduate exam and then you have to undergo a rigorous interview process. You require high marks throughout undergrad at uni to even qualify for the interview though (and not to mention GAMSAT). GAMSAT tests science knowledge of chemistry...

Arts at USYD or Arts/Laws at MACQ

I would study the Arts degree at USyd, major in government & international relations (pretty much political science) and history (ancient, medieval or modern - USyd offers all of them). If you get good grades (to be competitive since your ATAR is 96, you'd need a near HD average), then transfer...

    2013 Federal election

Re: 2013 Australian Federal election Kevin Rudd was a fantastic opposition leader. So was John Howard. Hell, so was Robert Menzies. That's what made them PM, being good opposition leaders. We should, inter alia, judge whether a PM is 'good' by their legacy.

    2013 Federal election

Is it worth ordering a mark recheck??

My principal didn't even know AAA existed lol and one of my friends asked him to nominate him for it and my principal did lol. My friend ended up with a 94.7 ATAR and got into UNSW Law and pocketed $4k lol. It is bull, but oh well, it's just decreasing the prestige of UNSW Law degrees. At the...
