Transfer from Software Engineering to Comp science

Need to complete 36 UOC and a WAM of 65 to transfer. Look at the CSE plan and then look at the units you've done. You'll get credit for MATH1131/MATH1231/MATH1081/COMP1917.

Panic attack. Engineering first year is so hard.

It's just one lab man, don't worry about the low mark, plenty of time to fix it up. I remember the first lab was error calculation or something, it's actually pretty important that you understand how to calculate the error in values correctly, so go over the work for future labs. Having said...

Panic attack. Engineering first year is so hard.

1141 isn't much harder than 1131 at all. If you're good at maths doing 1141 is a no-brainer decision.

Panic attack. Engineering first year is so hard.

1131/1141 isn't very formal. You're in for a shock when you move on to 1231/1241 and 2nd year maths, and definitely if you do discrete (1081). 1131/1141 isn't formal at all apart from a few definitions for things like the pinching theorem.

Panic attack. Engineering first year is so hard.

You may have terrible lecturers. Try learn the content at home from the course packs/textbooks if you bought them, at your own pace, and see how you go. If you still struggle with it when trying to learn by yourself, then you might be in for a little bit of trouble.

    PHY1121-> PHY1131. Didn't attend any lectures.

Yeah 1131 is a much better idea for flexi first year kids, heck it's better for anyone who is actually good at physics and looking to get the higher marks
  7. TheStallion

    Deferred SA-HELP

Yeah it should automatically change. If you're dropping to 3 courses note that you're still full time though.
  8. TheStallion

    PHY1121-> PHY1131. Didn't attend any lectures.

They're exactly the same courses, the only difference is the PHYS1131 final exam is much harder.
  9. TheStallion

    Students amenities fees

Even if you drop from 4 subjects to 3, you're still full time.

Parking fine at train station car park.

Or you could just park in the carpark... it costs a bit but it's worth it if you have the money. Makes everything a lot easier.

    Your first day at uni

I dunno if it's just me, but does anyone else remember it not even being a mathematical problem? I'm pretty sure the maths in it was really basic, and it was more of a concept sort of question.

    Your first day at uni

If it makes you feel any better, very few people ever end up figuring it out.

    Your first day at uni

Not giving any hints away ;) keep thinking outside of the box with it though, not like your most recent post

    Changing my degree

Changing degree will not be possible until the end of the semester. You can drop SCIF though still, and you have until the 4th of March to pick up a new subject.
  15. TheStallion

    Math1041

I'm with soloo, stats are pretty boring. Screw people doing courses that are "easy" though, just pick a course that you would actually enjoy
  16. TheStallion

    Your first day at uni

Fuck they must recycle that question hardcore, I had it for PHYS1131 too, it's really simple when you think about it.
  17. TheStallion

Is it true that I can't choose some engineering courses if I dont do PHY1131 ?

+1 to the above, also you have until the 4th to chance courses so htfu
  18. TheStallion

Havent done 4 unit and am really struggling with math1131

If you're struggling already with the first lecture of content I would be seriously looking at whether you should even be in engineering, it gets a lot harder. Having said that, some lecturers are definitely shit. Read the course notes at home for the lecture, and try understand it there. If you...

recent or non recent school leaver?

If you defer then you don't have to reapply, you've already gotten an offer...
