Not really, questions from the 80's etc were harder than now but they still aren't that hard.

Yes. Quite a lot of people get very close to full marks, and can get full marks in questions 7 and 8. With practice you realise the last questions really aren't difficult.

Always prove them unless they give you the equations.

Trust me, there are plenty of hopeless students at maths. This is coming from some one who has tutored both maths classes and a minimum of 10 different individual students per week.
