What degree do I need to get a job that earns enough money to...

Irregardless there are still jobs in science that pay well.. though I can't disagree with the poor prospects. However, for standard science peeps, many go on to research which isn't so bad. But these people tend to do it for the love of the subject and not quarrel about money, but this is the...

is 80 WAM acheivable in commerce first year???

For Q1, i'd probs prefer (and end up) watching lectures from home (if they are recorded) at my own pace. Thinking that would be more effective

lowest mark for eco state rank?

Ye it differs every year, I was asking for raw basing it off her already great internal from her atar est thread lol. Sorry that was my bad. She's already 1st in eco internals (10 band 6's in eco last year from her school) so she must have a pretty high avg internal. With raw externals of those...

What degree do I need to get a job that earns enough money to...

No, include science, I consider med within the STEM disciplines, med incorporates and is an applied science, and docs get paid more than enough lol

lowest mark for eco state rank?

≥97, although would be lucky to get one with 95-96 as people have (rarely). To achieve those, 92-94 raw. What's your avg?

    Ranks needed for 90 ATAR

Pikachu's, but I mean you could still achieve 90+ without getting any band 6's, but would need to maintain like mid to high band 5's across all subs without stuffing up in any. Not necessary to have to have a band 6 to achieve 90 atar.

Can you still become a doctor if you were diagnosed with depression in the past?

I'd assume from the other people, since it did stem from physical assault

    Health Sciences

Whether it's hard or not is subjective, but no they usually don't require any previous science subjects studied, some may have bio as recommended but you won't have much trouble coping tbh even if you haven't studied it in high school. You honestly don't have to be 'sciencey' to excel at it. Go...

What degree do I need to get a job that earns enough money to...

No degree will help, it's too expensive. Give up now :(
  11. captainneuro

    Ranks needed for 90 ATAR

It really depends on the strength of your cohort tbh, other students will have a slight effect on it if you're not first, and your school seems to change ranks drastically yearly.
  12. captainneuro

    Ranks needed for 90 ATAR

top 5-10 in all, can be a bit lower for adv eng, maybe top 3 in genny maths.

Question about electrical engineering at unsw

I think if you do the combined, you finish your degree in 5 years opposed to doing it separately and taking 6 years. Apart from the acceleration, i'm not sure what other benefits it has, sorry lol. I'd recommend you do the combined anyway, you won't have trouble getting in. :thrust:

    Final ATAR Estimate

96.60-97.5, you'll surpass your goal of 95 tho.

    Final ATAR Estimate

~94-96. Lol just realised you’ve asked for so many :p

Can you still become a doctor if you were diagnosed with depression in the past?

You obviously can, but as a doctor you're constantly surrounded by/listening to patients' illnesses/problems which are undoubtedly depressive.. which could just provoke depression further. But it's not too big of a deal, it is curable (obviously from your experience) and just gotta learn to...

Is it true UON is really bad?

I don't understand why many people think UON is bad, I personally have never went there but what's the reasons for people thinking it's that bad?

    Lat + atar

Well if you get like 99.90 atar, don't even have to sit the LAT lol. But I know that the median LAT score for 2017 entry was 74 which was a median atar of 98 for that LAT score @ UNSW. If you get an atar around 95 (minimum atar needed), you should aim for a much higher LAT score. (90+ percentile)

    ATAR Estimate Please!!

Your atar can change quite a bit tbh (higher/lower) depending on how you go in externals for those subs that you’re first in (assuming you’re first by end of y12 too). By maintaining those scores tho in year 12, est would be around 96-97.10. Good luck :)
