Want to know if you made it into your preferred UNSW course before official offer?

Re: Want to know if you made it into your preferred UNSW course before official offer If this is real, then I got combined law! I'm so excited :)

    How to plan arts degree?

This is on behalf of my friend - she plans to major in English at usyd. She basically wants to know how to plan her first year i.e she knows that she has to do at least 12 credit points of core english but what else does she need to do/choose from? Thanks

    Worthwhile doing Adv Science/Law

I know this is late but yes I agree with the above. I'm looking at doing science (advanced)/law because I want to get into the political side of it more than the science part. So if you're more interested in being an environmental scientist then I think the law degree is unnecessary. Like...

How many days do you go to uni?

5 days - hopefully I'll do science (advanced)/law - I'm looking at doing large blocks with no breaks so I can work some afternoons

    Stage 1 subjects compulsory?

Thanks for clearing everything up :) Sorry I didn't mention that I'm doing combined law so I only have to do 144 UOC and therefore do not have to do free elective and general courses.

    Stage 1 subjects compulsory?

This may be a stupid question, but are stage 1 subjects compulsory, even if one is not a necessary prerequisite for stage 2 + 3 subjects? I'm planning to major in Climate Systems Science which has the following plan structure for Stage 1: GEOS1701 Environ Systems. & Processes (6 UOC)...

    Main Rounds

Yeah I'm a bit nervous but I'm also extremely excited because I finally get to do what I want after all these years. Yes, it looks like I'll be really stressed + tired all the time (my timetable looks very full), but I don't know; I'm just so pumped for uni life - meet other people, join clubs...

    Higher level classes advanced science?

Thanks for the help. I'm considering majoring in Climate Systems Science. How do I know what is considered core for this major?

    Higher level classes advanced science?

Ok, but it says in the handbook - "Where offered in a particular major students must take higher versions of courses. Any variation to this must be approved by the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) or nominee. This rule only applies to courses typically at level II and III in a major (or...

I'm doing that too :) What major are you looking at doing?

I 'Dislike' English to the Point Where I Don't Try

I'm sorry to say but there's no easy way around it in terms of motivation. I hated english with about the same passion as you do and it was my weakest subject. And that's what motivated me to try to do better, because I knew it would count towards my ATAR, so it was crucial for me to spend a lot...

    Higher level classes advanced science?

This may be a stupid question, but just to verify, in advanced science is it compulsory to choose a higher level course if we have the option? I.e for my major, they recommend doing MATH1131 Mathematics 1A or MATH1141 Higher Mathematics 1A. Do I have to choose the latter? Thanks

    How to enrol in classes?

Sorry about that - I meant drafting timetables for classes

    Study smart not hard/long?

Smart study involves studying in allocated periods of time (for eg. 1/2 hour blocks - you won't be able to study effectively for long blocks without breaks), and rotating fairly amongst subjects. It's about knowing exactly what is required of every subject, and targeting those areas in need...

    How to enrol in classes?

How to draft timetable for classes? Very confused with everything. I'm doing science (advanced)/law @ UNSW. How do I start drafting a timetable?

    Recreational activities during hsc

Definitely go for it!! I went to the gym once a week and went for regular walks; throughout holidays, I'd exercise everyday. Exercise reduces stress levels, helps you sleep better, gives you a clearer mind = better marks. Really helped me get through considering I am someone who stresses VERY...

    Stressing out, advice needed.

Look, honestly everyone goes through that with english. Personally, I believe it's a really hard subject. So first things first, don't begin tasks with that attitude; that won't get you anywhere. However corny this sounds, believe in yourself and your own ability, considering you are a gifted...

    Regrets of Picking Certain Subjects

No regrets really - geography was a tad annoying considering there was so much content and it scales terribly and only 1 unit of it counted for my ATAR in the end.

    Which University?

It depends what course you're planning to do
