So apparently they are getting rid of Belonging...

That's not hard to get around :) And it applies to everyone lol.

Raw Mark required for band 6 chemistry

Quite the opposite. My school gets 1-2 (even 3) state ranks in Chem every year, with 30-ish B6's, and the top mark in our Chem trial was only 92/100, with only 5 students getting >90. So the marking in HSC is like that.

So apparently they are getting rid of Belonging...

It's good that 2013'ers do Belonging. The more years it's been going for, the more resources available on it :D

    Engineering Mathematics?

Thanks for the useful post. Highly insightful. To OP, as far as I know from friends, even some of the ex-4U students are struggling with the Engineering maths and the 2U/3U students are struggling even more. So in my opinion, if you have time during the holidays between HSC and Uni, go through...

    English is stupid

The 8 common mistakes article is pretty stupid, I stand by my point. It intends to help HSC English students out, and some of the tips are incredibly general/irrelevant to the HSC English course. E.g. 2. Failing to write a rough essay plan - You can easily come in with a memorised essay and...

Can I get an ATAR of 98+

I highly doubt it. I think you're looking at ~94-95 right now.

Year 12 2012 Chit Chat Thread

He really isn't. I have no idea where you got that from - the simple reason that he enjoys English and justifies its existence as a compulsory course does not mean that he's hated.

Year 12 2012 Chit Chat Thread

Kinda worried, but mostly pumped. Planning to be one of the snakes that come out of the bush. Starting early, already 1/2way through Eco, Chem and Legal Module 1 and started Belonging essay and creative - also been doing some maffs (reviewing prelim + finishing binomal and circle geo these hols).

Please see this, letter to adrian piccoli, minister of education

But I still don't think someone getting 99.90 and 65 in English should be selected over someone getting 99.7 and 94 in it. And you've got to remember, scaling is determined by English.

No this is horrendous. I don't want international students destroying everyone.

You know that it's not going to work right? Also, you're not going to get 100 in Chem and Phys.

Re: The p00n thread I'm understanding your 'tier' system to be a 'class' system. Yes, but while we are aiming to address this inequality in the current day, your proposed plans would merely increase the gender disparity.

Re: The p00n thread Since females are predominantly concentrated in arts and law courses as opposed to science and technology, then Solooo is indirectly saying that the upper class will have even more men, so women are basically pushed down even further.
