    General Education (Gen Ed) FAQ

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I have a question about the following quote from the first post. I can't find this rule anywhere on the handbook page, but I did find this. Does this overrule the previous restriction that only 6 units can be taken from a single faculty? Does anyone...

    Econ2206

The course has very little to do with either micro or macro. It's basically a course on the multiple linear regression model. The only prerequisites are the two first-year quantitative courses (1202 and 1203).

    Advice about commerce at usyd?

Could you put Commerce as your first preference, get into that course with the scholarship, then transfer after your first year into Commerce/Law? It may also be a good idea to check with the university, if you haven't already, whether the scholarship necessarily has to apply to a single...

    Shortening Degree Length?

It depends on the subjects. I'm taking finance and economics subject and I plan to overload for a few semesters. At only three hours a week per subject, I don't think it'll be too much. That would obviously be very different if you were taking subjects with five or six contact hours a week...

    Diploma in Innovation Management

I got the same email last year and enrolled. So far I've only taken one of the core courses (STRE2010) but it's interesting enough so far and no more work than any other subject (group work throughout the semester, two quizzes, no final exam). I do have to overload for my next couple of years...

    Changes to exam timetables

Our provisional exam timetable is due to be released next Tuesday, and I have to RSVP later that week for an event in the middle of the exam period. My question is, how likely it is that my availability will change between the provisional and final timetables? I've never had an exam time change...

    'Assumed knowledge' and dropping subjects

If it's just assumed knowledge and not an official prerequisite, I'd say you'd probably be okay with the knowledge you have so far - that said, contact the university before you do drop it, just to be sure. But since you've come this far with chemistry, I wouldn't drop it. Even if you think...

    MGMT 1001 Results

I felt the same, but I was admittedly rather complacent and lazy about studying for the final exam. I figure I deserved a mark which, while not bad, was not as good as it could have been if I'd properly studied, and that's what I got.

    general UNSW chit-chat

Will we get some kind of email notification if that's happening?

    general UNSW chit-chat

I know the results for the semester aren't officially released until mid-July, but might they update the My Grades section of Blackboard before then? Specifically, I'm asking about the four core courses for commerce.

    Advice please

You should do both. A month is long enough to make summaries on a couple of topics and practice past papers.

    Exam Location in Randwick Racecourse

It explicitly says never to enter by the gate opposite Gate 2. You want to get off a bus on Alison Rd.

So how many days do you spend in uni per week?

Four in this past semester, due to poor timetable planning. Three next semester, and hopefully three or less for the semesters after that as well.

ECON2112 Game Theory & Business Strategy

One of my lecturers told us that the past exams for that subject were on MyCourse. I don't know if that applies to all of them, but it's worth checking if you haven't already.

Question on B. Laws (graduate entry) and B. Laws (combined degree)

    1. Since it's a graduate entry course, one would imagine that you have to be a graduate to be eligible for it. Studying for a year won't be enough, you'll need an undergraduate degree. 2. Since you graduate with both degrees, you need to pay for both degrees. This is the same cost per semester...

Post your s2 2010 timetables here!!

No early starts, though the late Thursday finish may be annoying.

    general UNSW chit-chat

I checked again this morning, and both streams were full. I guess it just took a while to show up on the timetable site.

    general UNSW chit-chat

I have a quick question about enrolment. In the handbook, there are two lecture streams for LEGT1710. One is at a very good time for me, and the other is at a very inconvenient time, and neither are full. When I enrol (or try to swap) it only presents the inconvenient time. Is this for any...

Guide to UNSW for new students!

You will get some bonus points if you get high enough marks (usually band 5 or 6) in relevant subjects in your HSC.

    ECON1203 Project

I'm not saying you're wrong, what you're saying seems fine. I'm just saying that there are different ways to approach it, so you need to find what works for you. Our tutor told us that as long as we explain what we're doing, what we're including and how we've approached it, any approach is fine...
