I think I'll just take my parents to the Monday night talk and a tour afterwards, and do the ASB talk and tour on my own the next day. That gets the information out of the way and if I don't remember my way around after two tours, I never will.

If not the faculty welcomes, then what is worth attending at O-week? It seemed like a good starting point.

One thing that these threads about laptops vs notepads never address is that of prescribed work. I know there's no "homework" in the same sense as high school, but will there be times when we will be expected to produce completed work to tutors or other classmates? It seems almost rude to do...

I've chosen the same courses. From what I understand, we only do four courses a semester, so there's not really scope for you to add any more courses, whether they be flexible or general education or compulsory.

There are some buses to (or near) the university that don't leave from Eddy Avenue, right? Are those less crowded, or is it all about the same?

Do the lecturers tend to include the lecture slides online with the iLecture? It would be useful if they were uploaded before class for printing - are they?

Mostly short days, and mostly avoiding peak hours. I'm pretty happy with this.

I'm doing the same degree, and have chosen all the exact same subjects. It didn't feel unavoidable while I was making the timetable, but perhaps it is.

Commerce combined with Economics.

I tried the Rectangles system and it gave me a few timetables with which I was happy. Is there any way to import that timetable into my account, or do I need to recreate it by hand?

I got a few points lower this year as well, so let's hope we both get in by some miracle.

Best was 2 unit maths, at 91. Worst was chemistry, at 78. The difference is 13, but without chemistry (which wasn't counted in my ATAR) it would be 7.

I've got the ATAR of 90+ but I'm unfamiliar with the GPA system. What kind of raw marks (if that's the right term) are needed for a GPA of >3?

Thank you. I was only about four points off the entrance, so I hope I do get into it. But what you've described sounds pretty simple. I guess that's my decision made.
