Guide to UNSW for new students!

Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) - Apply for Australian tertiary study From memory, I'm not sure if it's open for admissions yet, since it's only May. You may, or may not, get bonus points. This depends on the university, the faculty, and which subjects you do well in.

    ECON1203 Project

I meant to answer the rest by saying that there are infinite ways to approach the question. If what you've written makes sense to you and produces legitimate results, then it works. For the first part, myself, I set criteria (sort of like multiple tests) and the employees would only be...

    ECON1203 Project

It might not necessarily be relevant. Part of the analysis is working out what needs to be included, and how. As it says in the project outline, there's no single way to approach it, so some pieces of data may be useful to others but not to you, and vice versa. The experience might be useful...

    ECON1203 Project

Yes, I did that report this week. It wouldn't be helpful to tell you exactly how to do it, but there are examples of hypothesis testing in the lecture notes and the textbook, and online. You should be able to find something comparable and manipulate it to suit your purposes. That's what the...

    ECON1203 Project

Start by doing the key characteristics (mean, variance, that kind of thing) and see if anything stands out. Also, try to think of it in the context of the task. It helps it to stop being about numbers and start being about people, and helps you know what's important.

    ECON1203 project

I was trying to figure out the same thing, and thought that maybe we don't need hypothesis testing for that particular section, but I'm not sure what else we could do. All I could think of, otherwise, was comparing the efficiency of each individual mechanic to the mean and to each other, but...

Girls why dont you want to be housewives

I wouldn't have it any other way. My mother never worked, and I would never go back to working after I'd had children. That said, I'd still need to have something to do with myself all day, so I'd probably go back to postgraduate study part-time when they were old enough, or something like that.

    Acct1501 - Perdisco

I think it's less about not being able to do it, and more about wanting reassurance that things are in the right place before all the big red crosses appear. I had a bit of a shock with all those on the first week, but it got steadily better. If anything were shared, I would appreciate it too...

Post your s2 2010 timetables here!!

Rectangles refused to give me a good timetable, so I made my own from the class times in the Handbook. Monday 11:00 - 5:00 (break 3:00 to 4:00) Tuesday 11:00 - 5:00 (break 2:00 to 3:00) Wednesday 2:00 - 6:00 (break from 3:00 to 5:00)

    general UNSW chit-chat

Where are the best places to plug in a laptop? Do they mind if we use the power points in the tutorial rooms?

later round offers for arts courses?

Have you looked at the bonus points available? If you only need a few more points, you might be eligible to get some there.

srsly, what is there to do in uts during breaks and you're nigel?

Take a laptop and use it to look busy in a cafe. Or you could go shopping, isn't the Broadway shopping centre right next to UTS?

    general UNSW chit-chat

He was my tutor (last week, anyway) and he wasn't too hard to understand, so long as he wrote things or referenced notes. I guess I don't really need the lecture, but I'm not organised enough to do the learning if I'm not forced to. There's always the option to leave early.

Yeah, that's the one. I was sort of hoping to get an four-day weekend

    general UNSW chit-chat

With regard to this strike action business on Thursday; Is there any way to know whether my lecture will be held? I was assuming that it is, unless told otherwise, but if there's a website I can check, that would be good. I don't really want to get there at 9:00 and have to turn around and go...

    1 hr - 2 hr commute. Travelpass?

The TravelPass option has the added advantage of allowing you to travel around on your days off, as well. So if you use public transport to get to work or wherever else you go, you should take that into account as well.

I saw them too. I contemplated asking what it was, but I was already late for my lecture.

Do you pay board to live at home?

My parents are the same. They pay for phone bills and university fees and books and that kind of thing, and top up my bank account as long as I'm not blatantly wasting the money. I think the last part would stop if I got a job, though.

    Dear First Years

I've noticed there's been a 891 bus every couple of minutes when I've been at Central over the past couple of days, even at midday. Does this frequency continue through the semester or are they just making it easy for us to begin with?

    O-Week agenda

I'm not, but they haven't seen much more than the parking lots of the campus so I thought I'd involve them. Besides, what else am I going to do with a Monday night?
