i think interview panels like to hear that you've chosen subjects because you genuinely enjoy them, so if that means no maths, then no maths it is. seriously, i doubt it'd have any impact.

you have to use your ears! practise with your teacher in your usual lessons. but having said that, i dont think its compulsory to know how to tune your violin until grade 4. so yes, i think your examiner was being a bit over the top there.

it's only necessary if you feel it's necessary, e.g. if youre falling way behind at school. that being said, you can easily get through year 12 with a stellar uai without tutoring.
