    Timetabling ...

You'll probably be ok in terms of tute times, but i would still have back up times just in case. That's ok, high school ancient history isn't anything like uni ancient history - in fact a lot of people who did ancient history in HS end up having to un-learn certain bad habits. It's a pretty...

He really is, MQ is very lucky to have him.

    Timetabling ...

lol, welcome to Macquarie University. Spends millions on robotic library, cannot provide students with basic online services. Firstly, you shouldn't worry about lecture times filling up, by week three 25% of the course tends to stop going to them anyway. As for tutes, it really depends on...

Economics the saga filling out this dam proposed program plan continues

Yes... I did look that up in the handbook initially but was just wondering because the requirements that you have posted do not match the requirements of a B.Economics at MQ. Requirements for B. Economics (relevant to what you posted) are: 9cp (3 units) at 100 lvl 39cp (13 units) at 200 lvl...

    Edition of textbook_is there differences?????

The differences in content vary, however the biggest bitch is that often the page numbers / layout are totally different. Soo, all the references to the textbook given in lectures/tutes would be wrong. Have you had a look at second hand textbook sites? www.textbookexchange.com.au

    Sleep vs HSC

Is this not a lot of time...? Wait till you get to uni, then you'll know real time pressure, haha

    Money during uni

Yes, but you're either at work, at uni, or studying your ass off at home, which kind of destroys your soul. Also, as per above, i have fairly low contact hours and only have to go in to uni two or three days a week.

    Money during uni

Retail sales assistant, roughly 25 hours a week, sometimes more. Keep in mind that i'm over 21 and received Saturday/Sunday loading (probably made the majority of my pay on Sundays).

Does this happen everywhere or is this just me?

*shrug* depends on you i guess. Personally, if i take the time out of my day to show up to work at the time designated on the roster, i expect to be paid for it.

Does this happen everywhere or is this just me?

Check your contract to be sure, part timers usually have to give some notice, but the conditions differ from workplace to workplace. Casuals can quit whenever (the trade off being able to be fired whenever i suppose). Either way, try and quit on good terms so that you can use them as a...

Does this happen everywhere or is this just me?

Is your contract casual or permanent part time?

Does this happen everywhere or is this just me?

Yeah, you really have. With the breaks thing, i'm pretty sure if you work less than 5 hours you get a 10 minute paid break. If more than 5 hours you get a 30 minute unpaid meal break.

Does this happen everywhere or is this just me?

If you are rostered to start your shift at 11am and finish at 4pm, and you are present at work from 11am to 4pm, they must pay you for that time. They do not get to pick apart your shift and only pay you for the periods that they deem 'busy enough' to warrant payment.

    What makes you think that?

    Money during uni

Before i quit my job a month or so due to my asshole new boss i was earning maybe $560 a week during semester. Would try to put away at least $150-$200 every week for savings and the rest would go on rent, food, other crap i didn't really need.

    Macq 2013

hm, you don't have much choice this semester in terms of 100 lvl AHIS units... almost everything is semester in 2 or session 3 (summer school). All that's left is AHIS110 Rome: Republic to Empire, which imo is one of the best 100 lvl AHIS units on offer. I'm really interested to see what's...

What are your expectations of uni?

As per usual, expect to come out bruised, battered and sleep deprived.

HELP with understanding units and the set up of a degree

Yes, all of the linked codes are units. Think of units like subjects at school. The normal student study load is four units (12 credit points) per semester. So 24 credit points a year over 4 years = 96 credit points. Nope Whenever you want really. It's not as if you choose them all...
