    Help please.

Seriously guys, if you're interested in becoming a mod, just apply. There's no point in asking whether a mod if s/he thinks you are suitable or not. All mods contribute to the discussion of whether an applicant should become a mod or not and if we think you should be a mod, you will be.

    UNSW v USyd for Science/Law?

I have heard from a few people that did science at UNSW and USyd and said that it's more or less the same - based on what people have said here for Law, it's probably also the same. I would always recommend looking at transport, for example, for me, USyd was way better for transport - wasn't...

    Polarity of Covalent Bonds

Not sure what Q3 is referring to. Q4 is nitrogen and carbon. Not sure what Q5 is referring to. These are possibly the most poorly written questions I have ever seen, to say the least.

why is NH4NO3 not an empirical formula?

It isn't an empirical formula. In chemistry, the empirical formula of a chemical compound is the simplest positive integer ratio of atoms present in a compound - each element only appears once for the empirical formula. The empirical formula for ammonium nitrate is N2H4O3. The empirical...

    Benefits of taking advanced units?

I just checked with the Faculty of Science - your raw marks are simply added together now, no scaling at all. It should be noted that advanced is sometimes marked harder and sometimes easier. For chemistry, it seems that the coursework is harder and you are marked harder.

Potassium hydrogen carbonate acidic, basic or neutral salt?

Just this should suffice. kev-kun's explanation is poor because it doesn't explain why it isn't acidic, that is, why it's not acidic because it can donate protons.
