Will ranks change much after the first assessment?

ranks near the top dont fluctuate much due to the qualities of the students at the top. In the middle it changes a lot more.

    Which Commerce Major??

Why do both engineering and actuarial? They are non related and in the end you only can choose to be an engineer or an actuary (Although you will have excellent quantitative skill). Protip: The nasty things you hear are usually from people who failed/didnt do well.

UNSW vs USyd in computer science

Go to unsw just to get this person as a lecturer

    B science (advanced mathematics)

Shadowdude is right, doing actuarial/quant is essentially a roundabout way of doing a actuarial/finance + honours with 1 extra year. Compare the courses you do for a quant risk major, and then for actuarial major. Notice how most of the third year courses are actuarial and finance for the quant...

    Integrate e^2x cos (e^2x)

+1 very nice OP: if you're not sure what drong0ski did, try using substitutions instead, with u=e^2x for the first one, u=e^(-2x) for the second one

    Cambridge 4U Ex 1.10 Q7 (Graphs)

In order to solve it graphically, sketch y=sin(2x) and y=pi-2x and the point of intersection should be the solution for theta.

    Cambridge 4U Ex 1.10 Q7 (Graphs)

Refer to diagram 1 Let the radius of the circle be r. Since the angle at A is theta, and triangle AOB is isosceles (two sides are radii of the circle and hence equal), and hence angle at B is also theta. Let us call angle at A=x, angle BAO= angle ABO=x (instead of writing theta). then the...

    Geometric Progression

    Factorising gives a(r+r^2)=20...(1) ar^2(r+r^2)=320....(2) (2)/(1)=> r^2=16 r=4 or -4 if r=4 then a=1 if r=-4 then a=5/3

My Mathematics Major: Pure, Applied or Statistics?

+1 and once you learnt the basics of C++, other programming languages become much easier to learn as the structure and syntax is similar to the one in C++.

My Mathematics Major: Pure, Applied or Statistics?

At least you should do a computer science course or two, even if you dont want to major in it. That way you will get a handle on how programming works and the basics, and once you have that, you can self learn programming languages. But good programming skills are very valuable in the finance...

there is a reason why these degrees are unique....

Who supports the Green's initiative to abolish university fees?

The resultant increase in commodity prices due to the tax will impact most industries as well (we all use mining products of some form), so there is a rollover effect into unemployment in other industries as well. Given how the government has been currently spending tax money (laptops for...

    actuarial studies

http://www.maths.unsw.edu.au/students/current/ugadvancedprograms.html Quantitative Risk is essentially maths with finance. It is pointless to combine quantitative risk with actuarial due to the fact you could just double major in finance and actuarial to do most of the same courses in only 3 years.
