    Any problems with my program?

The 6UOC over will have to be full-fee paid I think - and I guess you determine which subject won't count toward your degree (it will have to be a subject that isn't mandatory for your degree/major/gen-ed) which leaves either ACCT2542 or ECON2101.

    becon to b commerce, question

    1. Yes it's "easy" to transfer in the sense that, all your subjects will be credited and there's minimal paperwork to be done. But you have to have done well in 1st year to be successful in transferring (i.e mid-credit to distinction average) 2. I suggest you do the electives of both - as if you...

what do you do as an auditor?

Yeah driving to clients is really only beneficial if they are located outside major CBD ares. At EY the reimbursement is sufficient I think - 60c per km

    CPA or CA?

Bear in mind that it takes a further 2 years of study to gain a CA qualification (part-time study while working full-time). I really don't see the benefits of then studying for the CPA (which is another year of study). I'll be starting my first CA module in June, and if all goes well, I'll be...

Mazda 3 - Yey or Ney?

Civic Sport is the same RRP as an SP23 though isn't it? Although I guess it does have a sunroof and other new gadgets that an SP23 won't have. Mmm yes, I did do a few hard accelerations from traffic lights in both the civic and mazda (maxx sport), and I did feel the mazda got up slightly...

Mazda 3 - Yey or Ney?

I recently bought a Maxx Sport (the mid-life updated one), I think it's a very good car compared with others in its class. I don't think you can compare the Maxx sport to a Civic Sport anyway - it should be compared to the SP23. The civic probably has better interior and it is a newer car than...

HELP ENROLLING COMM- 2 majors possible

    1. There is no major for Law 2. If you want to major in finance, you can - you'lll be starting it in 2nd year though that's all. Unfortunately you can't do both Acct and Finance with a Law degree

    Plan Your Degree (commerce)

You can always transfer for next year...that's what I did

double major and either cpa or ca

I think you have to pay full-fee for non-award courses (because HECS will only cover the courses required for your degree) Yeah you can, but i'd be better if you do FINS1612 or FINS1613, so at least you've made a start on your finance major...and you'll be with the rest of your year group

what do you do as an auditor?

Hence the need for weekly/monthly drinks, extravagent end of audit events and the like...lol

    Need help enrolling!

You can choose to drop the doubled degree later on, but you'll have to fill out forms and things at the faculty office
  14. Minai

    enrolling into courses??

leski - Are there other lecture and tutorial times for that particular subject that clashes? marao - do ACCT1501 and QMA (ECON1202), as those subjects might better help you with your cadetship
  15. Minai

What are the courses needed to complete a major in economics?

Hmm...yes it works for B Ec. It's just that you'll have a very set program Wow I didn't know that!
  16. Minai

    accounting

Yeah essentially its exactly the same. The B Bus course at UTS has a slightly wider variety in their core subject base than Commerce at other uni's, but in the end, its all the same

what do you do as an auditor?

Some senior accountants I knew personally that had gotten their CA had moved on to various Financial Accountant roles...One senior manager in our division left after 10 years at EY to be a assistant financial controller at some large corporation...

    The hoo-hah surrounding investment banking

It's not everyone's ideal lifestyle to be working 18 hour days in their 20's to set themselves up for early retirement. Each to their own.

    Cadetships/Traineeships- which uni?

Non-award means you pay full-fee for the course, but it doesn't count toward your degree (however, it does appear on your academic transcript). You can do CA req'd subjects by doing Acct/Finance or Acct major/Biz Law minor, but other than that I don't think you can fit everything in (the 4 LEGT...

    The hoo-hah surrounding investment banking

Christ that's pretty bleak (the quote from the US guy).. Personally, I don't think an extra 30-40k on what I'm earning would make me wan't to sacrifice my personal life/weekends/nights. It's not worth it to me. (Assuming I was "good" enough to be an IB'er in the first place). But hey...
