    not buying textbooks

It depends on what type of leaner you are. I'm very independent so I like have as many resources as possible so I can teach myself. If you can absorb most of what is taught to you in lectures and tutes then you can probably get away with that + borrowing few books from the library.

are the 10 medentry papers different every year?

Then why would the bother to hold back the release practice questions till april? They have done it in the past so I wouldnt be surprised. I was talking to an owner of a prep course who said that last year they were told that they are taking out the problem solving questions in section 1 and...

are the 10 medentry papers different every year?

The fact that acer are updating their practice questions as well as their past paper suggests that they may be a few changes coming up. This will come out in april.

Really sux how quickly you lose strength..

Thats why they say if you dont use it you lose it.

    Umat Results!

Where was this interview at? You certainly had an interesting interview there :D Probably best not to argue with the interviewers when you are trying to impress them :hammer:

are the 10 medentry papers different every year?

I dont think they are. Their trial/mock exam has been the same for the last two years. They might have to make a few changes this year because the structure of the umat is changing so they have to make sure their exam papers are the same number of questions as the umat. ACER will only...

Any of the popular ones should do the trick. Stay away from icarus the guy that runs that place is shifty.

    Bond Uni med interviews

I think its MMI so look into that. Just be aware that bond costs a lot of money and that its medicine program is facing a few accreditation problems. It is also a possibility that you might not find an internship immediately after you graduate.

    Biomedicine

You're right there. UMelb is an exception. USYD, UQ ect don't care. Its only a few subjects which are pre-requisite, you might be able to pick them as an elective or in the summer i think?

    umat materials

    Haha what do you have?
  12. N

    Umat

I agree with most of the things you have said here. The reason I told the OP to check out ACER's material before buying a prep course is because some people wont need one. Some people are capable of doing well in UMAT without prep where as others will need every bit of it. If you have the...

Do i need to do the STAT or UMAT?

You don't need a high ATAR for pharmacy. Some of my friends got into USYD with high 80's.
  14. N

    Umat

I suggest you buy the practice material that ACER offer. Have a go at them under exam conditions placing yourself under time pressure. If you do well then I wouldn't bother with the prep course because if you have the right mind for the job the prep course mugh just complicate everything...

    Biomedicine

They don't care what undergrad degree you do. As long as you have the marks you won't be disadvantaged in anyway.
  16. N

    Biomedicine

You don't have to do biomedicine to do postgrad med/dentistry. The schools actually like to have students from diverse backgrounds or so they say. You need to sit GAMSAT and maintain a highish GPA/WAM. If those scores are competitive enough you'll then have an interview at most universities...

    Grade Point Average?

GPA of 5.0 = 65 WAM= Credit Avg. It shouldnt be too difficult to maintain if you did science subjects and a little bit of maths at high school.
  18. N

    Highest WAM you know of?

That is impressive. I'd call it a mixture of smart and effort ;) I've heard of people maintaining low 90's in med sci after 1st year but I havent heard of anyone graduating with a 90+wam. It's certainly possible though, just takes heaps of effort.
