Don't let the hype about scaling bother you. As long as you apply yourself consistently throughout the HSC, doing any subject will yield good results.

Did you ask those graduates what they did during their tenure at university and immediately after graduation? Perhaps ask them whether they had any decent experience working while doing their degree as low job prospects seem to go against the claims stating that job prospects for graduates are high.

50% of the HSC comes from the final exam so this assessment only counted for 7.5% of your total. Choosing to drop the subject based on one disappointing result reveals a defeatist attitude. Don't bother.
