    Legal authority?

For law students, Austlii isn't that great. I say this as a student of one of the partnering universities creating/running it. It is quick, and if you have no other resources, or want to read transcripts, then fine. But for research it is insufficient. Great for laypeople though.

    Legal authority?

Re: Legal Authority in Law. You would say "Codelfa Construction v State Rail Authority of New South Wales (1982) 149 CLR 337" as: Codelfa Construction and State Rail Authority of New South Wales, reported in 1982 in volume 149 of the Commonwealth Law Reports at page 337.

    Legal authority?

Re: Legal Authority in Law. For a footnote, make sure you cite it in full though: Codelfa Construction v State Rail Authority of New South Wales (1982) 149 CLR 337. ...and always use CLR instead of ALR.

    Lawyers vs. Accountants

Both are decent professions, why do you need to go attacking one? They are apples and oranges. Lawyers perform a very different role than accountants. Both are essential to society. You master numbers and financial administration, we master language and argument. The two involve different roles...

Case help - Balmain New Ferry Co

This case is pertinent in two areas: torts and contracts. In torts, it discusses the extent of false imprisonment -- in this case whether he really was falsely imprisoned, whether he had a reasonable means of escape (swimming), etc. However with regard to contracts, the case deals with...

    Legal authority?

Re: Legal Authority in Law. I suggest you try and get used to it asap, because authority is everything in law. In answering a problem question, after every principle of law you state, you must always state the authority for it. Eg - "Impossibility is not a defence to conspiracy: Barbouttis...

Difference between law degree, masters & diploma?

Re: Degrees I'm not entirely sure why they could. I suspect it used to be like today's medicine courses, where you couldn't just take a degree in Medicine to qualify, you had to first do an undergraduate degree as a foundational type program for higher study, such as law (and in the form of a...

Difference between law degree, masters & diploma?

You are correct that it is not the same thing, but a Diploma in Law issued by the LPAB does give you the academic qualifications necessary when seeking your practicing certificate. That's not true, nor does it make any sense.

Difference between law degree, masters & diploma?

Re: Degrees 1. A masters of law degree (LLM) is a postgraduate degree specialising in selected areas of law. You need a law degree (LLB) to undertake a masters of law. It is intended for advanced study in particular subjects. As to why some practitioners only have LLMs: I believe (I could be...

    Philosophy

But how is this act moral? Of course morality implies that there is free will. Attributing moral value to our behaviour is entirely predicated on the notion that we can do otherwise -- that we can make choices between what is morally good and bad. If something is determined, it cannot do...

    How long does he have?[sex]

    Generally: 10-15 min foreplay + 10 min oral (on girl) + 25-30 min penetration = ~45-55 min. For quick, I think: 5 min foreplay + 10 min penetration = 15 min. Edit: + 10 min cuddling :o

NSW Judges to undergo health checks

Because I am unaware of the specifics of this commission, I'm slightly wary of this. Any executive-appointed body watching over judges should be treated cautiously. Health checks are fine. But whilst complaint handling should exist, I think the sanctions imposed should be carefully considered...

whats the best way 2 ge ova sumone?

It can depend on the person and the situation, but here is some general advice. For emergency uses, watch Robin Williams Live on Broadway (two hours of some of the best stand-up comedy in the world). You should be able to hire it from your local video store. [Note: some level of intellect or...
