I think there are new name badges for all the renewal stores/ brown uniform stores. Some of like the ShopTalk pictures have them. They're a lot smaller than our current huge ones.

New name badges again? We got new ones a while ago which were exactly the same except they got rid of "Save Everyday" from under the coles logo. A bit of a waste.

Us too. It's real annoying now because there's a roller door that's on the KMart side which separates the two stores, and now they're open till midnight, they refuse to shut it until right on 10pm which means we can have people in our store till around 10:15 some nights

I'd be worried about blending in with the fittings with the brown shirts, at least I won't get confused with a KMart worker.

We have spare clips as well, I think we're a little overprepared. It did come in handy when my clip broke apart the other week though. Oh, I don't know if you want to, but if anyone wants to add me on facebook feel free to PM me for the link

We have a box of old name badges for exactly that purpose (our old SM was really anal about them) - I was surprised to find they had a spare Bryce one the other day.

I need to spread it around before I can give it to you again. Am I the only one who thinks that sounds a little dirty?

At about 5:30pm we got dumped with a whole trolley of leftover loose stock from things that had been put in the damaged stock bin and shouldn't have been, that took me about an hour to sort out.

We have one of those water cooler things in our tea room, they can use that. Most of our trolley boys just bring their own bottle of water and put it in the fire hose / broom cupboard.

haha my aunt smokes Pall Malls and she's fairly upper class. Every time she visits she always bums a cigarette of mum and dad and tries to pay them back with Pall Malls which they just give back to her they're that awful (apparently) my parents are PJ Gold 30 smokers.

Just lie about it, say something like "Oh, the computer seems to have frozen, I'll just have to call a supervisor" I'd say the most important thing would be try and keep the card in your possession if you're suspicious.

Do you have the chip card support, because that has a "NO" button, but I don't know what it does. I would first take the card and put it somewhere where the customer can't take it and run away, then ask them if they could sign the receipt again. If that doesn't match then I would call for...

So tired. Good points: Hilariously over-rostered so I didn't have a register for 2.75 hours Bad points: Volunterred to stay back to 11:15pm to face some of the store.

UGH. Am not looking forward to my 5:15 - 10:15 pm shift tonight, we're going off a sales estimate of about $335,000! I went in this morning to grab a couple of things and we had 4 mains open and 1 express and this was just 8 in the morning. I will definitely be milking my break tonight!

I love going into Woolies at night for the marked down hot cross buns. We never seem to have to do it, I guess we're just better :P

Someone was telling me once that it's best to report even what you think is a minor injury so that if it gets worse you can prove that it was work-related for compensation purposes. One of our checkout ladies is allergic to mango skins so uses a turned-in plastic bag to bag them.

Well if you try to push "CHQ" or "SAV" after entering the card number it just says "FUNCTION NOT SUPPORTED" or something like that. It's weird, since they "upgraded" the firmware, I've had hardly any cards not swipe properly - I don't know how they managed that.
