Can someone please give me an honest opinon?

There are numerous factors which contribute to one's UAI, but I'd suggest the most influential is effort. Does this mean UWS students are less hard-working? Probably. However, as most of my posts on this topic have suggested, the possible flaws of UWS as an institution or as a cohort of...

Can someone please give me an honest opinon?

Fair argument. If you require a competitive learning atmosphere, then UWS may not be for you. In fact, I have found that most students tend to assist each other. However, this has not hindered me, and I feel as though I am an extremely competitive person. If you set personal goals (GPA, for...

Can someone please give me an honest opinon?

Whether it is relevant is a matter for the individual. You should base you decision as to what uni you will attend on a number of factors, one of which might very well be the student-teacher relationship. I know of one person who left UNSW to come to UWS because of the type of lecturers and...

Can someone please give me an honest opinon?

Prioritise what is important to you: the specific course; it's structure; electives; location; atmosphere; reputation etc. Go to the open days, speak with the students and lecturers and base your decision on the factors you deem important. If reputation is of prime important, then perhaps UWS is...

    Student Mentor

I received a letter informing me that I am eligible to be trained as a student mentor in Torts. For those who have been a student mentor, would you recommend it? Was it worthwhile? Diffcult? etc. I will most probably sign up, but just thought I'd get some feedback from those who've done it...

    Volunteering at Community Legal Centres

Re: Volunteering at Community Law Centres Are you able to give actual legal advice only being a student, or do you do administrative type work?

    HD average in law

If I understand MS correctly, you cannot do more than one year of university study. So if you've already completed a year (or more), and then study for a year at UWS, even though you may have only done one year's study of law, you've still done more than one year of university study.

    virtual memory

When that comes up for me I press Ctrl - Alt - Delete --> click on the processes tab --> click memory tab so that the processes using the most memory appear at the top --> right click on a process(es) and click end process. This may not be ideal (I have no idea) but it seems to work.

    HD average in law

It is difficult for me to say. But even if I were to concede that the very best at USYD are better than the very best at UWS, I doubt the difference would be so significant (for the abovementioned reasons) as to make any material difference to your chances of receiving an HD.

    HD average in law

Whether it is easier to achieve an HD at UWS, as opposed to USYD/UNSW, is definietly arguable. As neo o stated, only an extremely small proportion of the cohort receive an HD for any particular unit. So just because UWS has a lower UAI cut-off (i.e. a lower minimum mark required for entry), does...

    Uws A Joke

I did Managing People at Work (its a unit under the Social Science degree as well) just so I wouldn't have to travel between campuses this semester, lol. But arghh, I regret it. I can't stand this business shit - I think I'm going to fail the unit :( The funny thing is, I'm going to either fail...

Is anyone at Bankstown campus regularly?

More importantly, what are the ladies like at Bankstown campus? I was just granted permission to do my Social Science units there next year (wasn't interested in anything offered at Penrith). More generally, whats Bankstown campus like?

    Laptops

I didn't say that I don't want a Mac. I've never used one and know nothing about them though. There is a guy in one of my tutes who always bring a MacBook, and he was telling me that they're better because they never get viruses. I doubt that is the only/main consideration in determining the...

    Laptops

Those were from www.laptop.com.au - they have a list of laptops from around $500 to about $4000. Unless it is too complex to explain, what is Core duo?

    Laptops

I never play games or watch movies on my computer. Most of the time I'm doing uni stuff, and if I'm not doing work I'll just be on websites, msn. In that sense, it would seem as though getting a laptop would be beneficial, for I would have the benefit of its mobility and the lack of power would...

    Uws A Joke

Perhaps you should go through the Social Science degree, looking at the majors, sub-majors and even individual units, to see if what is offered resembles that which would have been provided under a Planning degree (whatever that is). I've been at UWS for almost 1 year, and I don't see what...

    Subjects per semester

I'd imagine it would have no effect on your GPA because in its calculation you divide the total by the amount of units you do. For e.g. Four Units Unit 1: D Unit 2: D Unit 3: D Unit 4: D 6+6+6+6 / 4 GPA = 6 If you only did 3 units and got Ds, the 4 unit semester would not result...
