    The MQ Get Healthy/Study Thread

For Mac uni sport+rec it's $40 per month. But once you get it you're obliged to keep going for 3 months b4 you can cancel it. I'm not sure if you can "sign up with a friend, and get one month free still". You could a month or so ago you might have to check

    The MQ Get Healthy/Study Thread

You have to go down the library steps, towards the carpark, then when you've passed that follow the road out of the uni. The gym's along that road on your left. There's like a statue of kids playing sport in front of it. Worth a look see it's quite nice

    The MQ Get Healthy/Study Thread

To stay healthy I brought a gym membership at MQ sport and rec centre. The next step is actually going, but these things take time

    Tutoring in Uni.

With some subjects like linguistics, maths etc. I know of people who get tutoring. If you've got a problem with a subject, and you can afford to get tutoring, its a lot smarter option than sitting around like half the people in the class who dont know what they're doing...

Lecture Slides - How long before lecture?

mmmm...your subjects are obviously different....A lot of the lectures for my subjects (politics, law, cultural studies) have been written years before and the lecturers just tweak them with new material. In this case I think it's not too much to ask to have them up for us to write on in lectures

What do you love most about Uni?

lol. Uni seems to have much more interesting and accepting people than high school......though there are times I rlly hate uni....like during assignment periods :D

Lecture Slides - How long before lecture?

OUt of the 10 subjects I've done so far, only one has had the notes posted BEFORE the lecture starts.....I know lecturers have a lot of other stuff to do but how hard can it be to put them up the night b4....

    What club did you join??

Am joining the debating society, but missed o-week ( i think there's a bbq for it on sunday). Ironically the prospect of debating scares the shit out of me. Signed up for muls last year. 2 clubs is awlrite. Endofdroad have u googled macq clubs/societies or searched for it on the macq website? I...

What subjects will you be doing in 2008?

lol. If you get too estatic now, your excitement might be gone when semester starts! Best to bottle it up for your first tut, then let the *happy vibes* out in small bursts over the semester. That way, when you have all of your assignments due and you're up at 3 in the morning questioning why...

Urgently wanting to know what Hist115, or possibly Hist114, are like

Pol168 was really good. Pretty much what you do is learn to "read" global issues from different perspectives ( liberalist, neo liberalist, marxist, radicalist). You also touch on possible psychological reasons for disputes. A lot of people commented on the amount of reading required (there...

    Transfer into law

Yup predominantly credits, though some disctinctions would get you over the standardised gpa of 5 mark (worked this stuff out when I was trying to transfer last yr). I would have to say that getting an INTERNAL transfer into law at mq is pretty darn easy ( depends on the yr of course). I got a...

    Self-catered uni accommodation

lol. I can remember when I first started living in self-catered on campus accommodation a yr ago....I really had no idea about cooking....and I still don't. We got a new flatmate yesterday and I was sitting with him in the kitchen when he said to me "this mince doesn't have instructions on...
