Re: is my father right - how much of a factor is the 'reputation' of the uni? usyd vs
That's good. UTS does have its niche attraction.
My point was that across the board, over thousands and thousands of students, USyd/UNSW have students with higher UAIs.
Re: is my father right - how much of a factor is the 'reputation' of the uni? usyd vs
Companies are not stupid, they know where the more able students go. Let's face it, UAI cut-offs are almost uniformly higher in USyd/UNSW than others. Students with higher ATARs are going into such courses...
Re: is my father right - how much of a factor is the 'reputation' of the uni? usyd vs
What kind of reasoning is that? Many people apply for Harvard, that doesn't make it harder for those who got in? Harvard has some of the lowest acceptance rate in the world. There is just no argument against...
Without a doubt, Wharton School of the University of Pennslyvania is the best, especially for finance. Probably the best in the world too. I was told people accepted into this have WAMs rarely under 85.
Second would be Stern of New York University. I was told WAM of around 78.
Others are...
Re: ANU is my dream university, but why there are so many negative sayings against it
The quality of any Group of 8 uni in Australia is good enough to study.
I was just suggesting why are you moving interstate to Canberra when you have a better (IMO) option of UMelb for Commerce right in front...
Re: ANU is my dream university, but why there are so many negative sayings against it
For Commerce, I would recommend UMelb over ANU. More reputable business course IMO and decent ranking.
Commerce (International/Lib Studies) are considered double degrees.
Have a look at UNSW Handbook to get a good idea of the degree structures.
UNSW Handbook Program - Commerce (International) - 3538
UNSW Handbook Program - Commerce (Liberal Studies) - 3539
Essentially, one is Commerce +...
Both are good combinations to do for IB. Personally I would go the UNSW option. Sydney + Australian School of Business. Canberra is too much of a hole.
Note that Commerce (International)'s cut off was 97.05 and HSCPlus does not apply.
umm my friend didn't get it too :(. yea there seems to be no rejection email cuz my friend had to ask the person. thanks, not sure what kinda nonsense they'll interview me on.
At UNSW, transfer into Law requires a minimum of 70-75 WAM (high Credit to Distinction).
"UAI 95-96.95 and minimum WAM of 75 with no fails OR UAI 97-100 and minimum WAM 70 with no fails are eligible to apply."
