It's not extremely difficult or anything, for me it's just the number of hours I have. I had 30 hours per week of class/lectures/labs per week last semester. I think I have about 34 this coming semester. *Dies*

You look like you're all set. I think when you go to enrolment, they might make you stick to their structure. If so, when uni starts, login to myuni and withdraw from the ones you do not want to do and put in the units of your choice. They can't really stop you.

Why don't you just use the facilities at uni or your current machine at home? You're only going to be doing basic stuff anyway. Don't rush and waste a few grand on expensive hardware and software on a whim like that.
Practicals would mainly consist of writing code, designing websites, networking, playing AI, possibly go into circuits and embedded systems if that's your thing.

Yeah, I am doing 5 units of study because I dropped Commerce and those units will not count to my degree.
