    Geography extended response help!!!!

You would still have case studies of economic activities by themselves I would think, but you defintely would have to have some examples in your response at least. I did viticulture, and we had some examples from overseas especially about changing spatial patterns and how that's affecting...

    Geography extended response help!!!!

A good extended responses has: good case studies that are comprehensive, good illustrative examples, and good structure. Having one or two really detailed case studies that cover all the syllabus dot points is far better than having several to cover all of them, as that way you cut down on how...

Defs, and you'll definitely hate it as soon as you're in one.

Need some urgent help for yr 10 Student Research Project

If this is an srp though, you won't have access to hcl or h2so4. You could just do Panadol in water, and then change the water temperature to see which one is the optimal one, and then do a separate one to see if crushing it up into a powder increases the rate of reaction (which it will -...

    Holiday before Year 12

September I chilled, but it doesn't hurt to brush up on your maths knowledge, or read, if you have it, your discovery text. Summer holidays consisted of doing paper 1's, extended responses for geo, past papers for maths, and that type of revision. Reading your module texts in summer is also a...

Have you been told about final internal school ranking after trial?

Hmm that's weird. It could be in their final school report, which would be the final ranking.

Have you been told about final internal school ranking after trial?

Idk about your school, but for our school, they made us sign off our raw marks before they got sent off to BOSTES/NESA as its called now. I would think on that sheet of paper you might see your internal rank too, but usually internal rank we saw after each assessment.

When are you deciding on which University?

For me, I've always been interested in science, particularly the environmental sustainble side of it. However, I loathed physics (and still do). So that ruled out engineering. What major I really didn't know until year 12/1st sem Uni - chem, environmental studies, geography and biochem were all...

Changes in staff Leading to teacher Incompetency

It's difficult to get the school to change their minds, TBH, unless you've got a really good reason. The most you can do is seek extra help from your competent teacher outside of class hours, if they're willing to help you.

    2018ers Preliminary Chit Chat Thread

Term 4/ Term 1 Year 12 isn't that bad really. It's probably the most chill term of year 12, the assessments aren't too bad, and then you've got a month and a bit "study break". Then the year starts again and then shit gets real. But don't be scared, think of it as your last year of free (ish)...

    Is it worth changing schools?

If you can get into a selective school, then great, but be aware that you'll probably be at the very bottom of your grade, and you'll take a lot of time to climb up those ranks again. More spots open up for year 11, so maybe try for those ones. You basically have to reestabilsh yourself in your...

    subject selections for year 11

Chemistry tends to be an assumed knowledge thing for quite a few courses, and it's in both uni bio and phys (not as much in phys though). Earth and Enivornmental Science and Geography I'd imagine are more similar than you think- earth goes more into the science behind the environment, whilst Geo...

    Best university ?

Sydney caters for high achievers (aka the state rankers, the 99.95's, dux etc.) quite well, but UNSW caters more broadly for people who did more averagely. Facility wise UNSW just got a new bio building, with newish medicine buildings too. Honestly, it might be worth just going to the unis...

Subject Selection (Help with either Chemistry or Biology)

I'm not sure what assumed knowledge is for aeronautical engineering is, but chemistry tends to be an assumed knowledge subject over biology. But again, bio is a lot of memorisation and content, related to ecosystems, plants, humans and animals, whilst chemistry has more physics based stuff and...

What should I do in Year 10 to prepare for Year 11 and 12?

Chill in the summer break but try not to completely forget how to write a short story for English or how to do basic maths :D

    Urgent: No idea... Help me!!!!!!!!!

tbh, the extended responses for HSC rarely require calculations, they're usually the "society" questions, ie. the production of fuel from sugar cane. If you memorise all that, and memorise the first steps of caculation problems, ie. finding moles, writing equations, setting up a table etc...

    Binder or exercise books?

Depends on the subject. For maths, I'd definitely go with exercise books because per page, they're cheaper than reinforced loose leaf paper. For content heavy subjects/subjects that get a lot of handouts of stuff, I'd use a binder so that you don't loose the handouts. But again, if you use loose...

Is it possible to attain the following...? PLEASE REPLY ASAP...

Idk if this will comfort you, but I did a similar pattern of subjects, where 3u didn't end up counting in my atar calc anyway. Since people have covered the phys/chem, which really in my option (along with maths), is best reinforced through endless past papers, I'll cover get cause no one seems...

    Subject Selections?! Please!

As much as doing 14 units will kill you, it might not be that bad if you want until your first HSC assessments to decide what to drop. Your marks in bio and chem I'd imagine would scale closely to a similar number, and bio is different in year 12 than year 11 (I dropped in year 11 myself so I...
