    Questions from interested 08ers.

I meant Evilo tbh. And when I said that our first years looked fine, I meant in other ways besides sport.

    Questions from interested 08ers.

Because the inter-hall sports shield is the only worthwhile way of assessing the quality of the first year intake, right? That doesn't surprise me coming from a Johns boy. TBH the first years look fine.

    Bush Week?

It really depends upon each individual course convener

    Donoghue v Stevenson

They are fairly long. In your average law course you'd go through 10 cases per week. If you're doing 4 law courses, why would you want to read 40 odd cases per week when you can understand the relevant concepts by reading the extracts in the case book?

What do you hate about law students?

Law students always seem to have this bizarre competitive streak to the point where if you did well in a particular subject they'll badger you for your "secret techniques". There are always secret techniques, because clearly you didn't get that mark through luck or just learning the...

    Questions from interested 08ers.

Well, just remember this. When ADFA used to compete in the Inward Bound Competition (an outdoor marathon and orienteering competition where you get dumped in the middle of the bush and have to run to a central point up to 80km away) they got lost and ran to Bateman's Bay. What does that say...

    A few Questions

Just on the side, the Arts (International Relations) degree isn't anything special. It's an arts degree with compulsory courses. You don't get to do anything that an average arts student wouldn't get to do, you just have to do certain courses and you get the words (International Relations) on...

Why can't law be done as the single degree? Why must it be combined?

I can't speak for Usyd or UNSW but I know that at ANU you have to start in a combined program but can drop down to a straight LLB whenever you want to. It may be worthwhile ringing up the law schools that you're interested in to confirm whether you can graduate with just a straight LLB.

    Questions from interested 08ers.

Rooms in the new college next door to Bruce will have bathrooms and a kitchen in each room. They're going to be priced at around $190 p/w self catered (so similar to how the Packard wing at Bruce is now). However, I'm not sure whether that college will be open at the start of next year or...

    Class sizes?

I'm fairly sure that's pretty standard across most universities :). They get particularly huge in ANU commerce though because all the commerce, economics and finance students do close to the same courses for the first year.

What is the best uni for studying European languages?

RE: exchanges These are the Italian universities that ANU has an exchange partnership with. http://info.anu.edu.au/studyat/International_Office/exchange/_anupartners.asp ITALY UNIVERSITY OF BOLOGNA * http://www.unibo.it UNIVERSITY OF SIENA * http://www.unisi.it/

    Class sizes?

It depends upon the degree and course. From the degrees I've done though ~ 14 students per tutor in first year science (chemistry & biology) ~ 15 students per tutor in first year Chinese ~ 20 or less students per tutor in most law courses Lectures and seminars will obviously be bigger...

    Gleeson ot Kirby?

But Gleeson would always look so sour. Isn't a little bit of tension required in every relationship? Kirby all the way.

Is Law/Actuary Studies degree really hard?

The only two people I know who did actuarial/law changed to finance/law after two years. The few actuarial students I know struggle with maintaining a good work/life balance. Combining law and a part time job with an actuarial degree will most likely burn you out after two years unless you are...

    UAI Cut-Offs: 75 up to 85

Incorrect. The cutoffs at ANU are pegged, that's why they can offer a single UAI across commerce, economics, arts and science. Good marks? You only get kicked out for failing more than half your subjects two semester in a row. That isn't "not getting good marks," that's "not bothering to go to...

In order to get into law school

She's Charlotte Church. You may remember her as the 15 year old with "the voice of an angel" but now you can get to know her as the 21 year old with "the boobs of a harlot".

    Fenner

None of the above. Ursies and Bruce have the best averages on Daley Rd (from statistics released last year), Johns has won the sports arts shield for the last couple of years running (though B&G is catching up) and Johns also won the arts shield last year (though Bruce usually performs quite...

    Does UniLodge do O-week?

I doubt it. Unilodge was looking to establish a Resident's Committee for this year but I believe it fell through. The social scene at Unilodge is worse than Fenner's which is depressing considering that it's the model that the university is moving towards with Unilodge 2 and 3 going up soon and...
