    UWS Law Orientation Camp

Oh I'm going to this camp thing. So at least I'll know some of you, well know - OF - some of you. :p I only paid yesterday so I guess there are still spots? The transaction went through successfully.

    New Car Advice

Thanks for all your replies guys! Looks like the majority of you guys say Mazda 3. :p I only omitted the Honda Civic due to the non-5-starNCAPness and also because it's already had a facelift, hence new model coming soonish? :p By that logic I should remove the Corolla though. The VW would be...

    New Car Advice

Yeah this probably will sound like many of the other threads in the past so bear with me if you will. :) So, I'm looking for a new car, automatic and not more than about $25,000ish. I'm not so interested in the econoboxes like the Yaris/Mazda 2/Fiesta or anything like that. No Europeans purely...

    First Year Law at UWS

Whoever said Academic Advising was a waste of time, I second that motion.

    First Year Law at UWS

I hate how I'll have to turn up for one hour and pay $6 for an all day permit -_- Will be at Business and Commerce/Laws academic advising session tomorrow.

    Parramatta Campus Parking

Thanks for this. :) If it's just like parking in any other public location then I'd be content. Edit: Awwww yeeaaaaa, I just got approved for a blue parking permit. :)

    Parramatta Campus Parking

I don't think you understand the concept of insurance. Firstly it's excess. Comprehensive only works in your favour if you know who hit you. If someone hit you and you found out later, without having any details of driver/licence plate/anything, then sure, the insurance company will gladly fix...

    Parramatta Campus Parking

Yeah, I assumed there were bound to be some incidents, especially given the design of the carparks. Has anyone actually personally had something happen to them though? I don't see this as being paranoid or a stupid question. In all honesty if I were to get a new car I'd want to keep it new...

worst air travel/ things you hate most about air travel

Jetlag, Turbulence, Food and juveniles on the plane, especially the crying variety. And the shitty feeling you get after sitting for 8 hours non-stop or so.

    Parramatta Campus Parking

Out of curiosity, is there any chance your car would get damaged whilst in the parking lot? I mean moreso than parking down at the shopping centre or something. I just mean in the sense whether it's worth it to get a brand new car or not, which it wouldn't be if parking scratches/dents were a...

    Some questions about the "Timetable"

Someone from the Student Centre told me that we have no choice in which lecture we're designated, i.e we can't choose our lecture. Is this true? The person seemed unsure and said they "think" that was the case, it just seems quite wtf to me.

Can a strong magnet affect aeroplane during flight?

Er if it's a really strong magnet then it will attract the (metal) plane to the ground and hence crash? :p Clarification please, haha.

    can u cook?

Noodles and anything frozen are my specialty. I make up the recipe as I go along, for noodles for example. Standard packaged seasoning and flavouring, with egg or a dash of lemon or wine or something. :p

Belonging question about Catcher in the rye.

Personal anecdotes, perhaps? How he keeps recalling past instances and calling people phony. :p Like something about Stradlater and the suitcases incident. Or perhaps even the fact that as he does not fulfil the requirements of any paradigm of belonging (except for family perhaps - Phoebe)...

    First Year Law at UWS

I panicked since apparently everyone else was enrolled and had timetables already (albeit from other universities) so I just enrolled into my units before the Academic Advising day. :p I suppose I'm comfortable with my choice, but I'm sure I can always change it later if needed be.

    Torts Law Unit

Torts Law is one of our compulsory law subjects (200008), but I was wondering whether it was normal that Torts Law is only a Seminar, with no corresponding Workshop/Tutorial? Like the timetable only shows a Seminar, unlike the other subjects. Does this mean we just sit and listen to what...

    "The Law Guide/FAQ" - Query.

I'm sure many of you would have noticed the Law guide/FAQ thing at the top of the page. I found it really informative and awesome in general, but it's incomplete and somewhat outdated in some respects. The author has become a retired member and last signed-in in 2008, so it's unlikely she'll...
