Applying online vs applying in person

just bring printed copies of your resume (shouldn't be more than one a4 page double sided) and ensure it has your availability and contact times on it. depending on the job, you may also benefit from mentioning if you have access to your own car (and a licence)... if you have this.

bachelor of business at UTS vs bachelor of eco/commerce at UNSW

I don't even think that's a hard and fast rule- it's all on the whole.

    How do you network?

Every now and then at an event, someone will strike me as a true potential candidate who I could see working with me. If they show a genuine interest, I'm more than happy to talk about working life with a candid perspective. I don't attend many of the careers fairs anymore but every now and then...

bachelor of business at UTS vs bachelor of eco/commerce at UNSW

Truth be told, what Crobat says is true. The other factors listed are of far more relevance/importance in finding the right fit.

For those who have graduated.. where are you now?

In my experience, yes it does help being connected to get your application more noticed or given a second look a, but ultimately, you still need to make it on your own merits. Of course there are probably some organisations where the network/connections are given more weight, but I'd say it's...

    Is Pokemon any good?

I don't even know the names of the regions anymore, but I was watching it on the Pokemon TV iPad app before. Great source of amusement when waiting for something.

    Jonah from Tonga

Yeah, she annoyed me in the original so couldn't figure out why he based his first spin off on her. I guess I liked Jonah because I could relate to it (in terms of seeing similar kids and influences). It plays to so many stereotypes which is what made it amusing (although I guess I can see how...

    Jonah from Tonga

Has anyone on here watched this? I saw it on Air New Zealand the other day (first two episodes) and then I have to admit, I enjoyed it (after being a Summer Heights High fan)... and bought the rest of the series on iTunes. Definitely worth the $20 for the HD version- really made me laugh.

    PS Vita

Agreed. PSN seems to have regular sales (and sometimes cheaper than physical), you can get PSN credit on special/discount every now and then, and the PS+ membership is a great way to try lots of games. Then you also have access to the cheaper stuff from PSP days too. Buying a 64gb memory card...

    Subjects Selections >.< Economics?

I found legal a lot harder to get good marks in so whilst I did the trio (Biz/Legal/Eco) in year 11, I dropped Legal for HSC. If you want to do accounting later on, you will get to learn legal stuff all over again anyway as they're required subjects for some of the post grad quals.

    Reading msn histories

As in, it doesn't matter if you kept them or not. I was paranoid about losing them for so long (as well as my renamed contacts on MSN as noone used their real name obviously).

General question about probability and counting

I'd say like anything, if you've practiced something enough, you should be able to tell if your answer/result doesn't look or feel right. I used to often step back (in exam situations) and think contextually, does my answer make sense. If I could reason it out in my head (as if I was explaining...

    ACCT1511 results thread

When I did 1B, I got 66% and had NFI how cash flow statements worked (my tutor was also useless but that's another point). And now I advise my clients how to prepare and optimise their cash flow disclosures. Funny how things change.

Applying online vs applying in person

depends on the organisation/company- unless it's a small business (e.g. corner store, bakery, etc), chances are there's probably a more formal process online. small business - also depends on your luck because the time when this gives you an advantage is if the person who is...

    Reading msn histories

I used to be paranoid about losing my Patchou Messenger Plus chat logs... as well as all my old emails/archives. But 10 years later. I realised it doesn't matter and I'm quite glad I don't care about it anymore. (that, and if I went back to read it all again, I know I'll cringe. Just like...
