    Going out by yourself

ROFL but I can think of two exceptions: 1. Mate telling me to try hairdresser which I hadn't been to before after complaining how crap my one was. This obviously can't be used more than once. 2. Girlfriend

    What Cars does everyone drive??

Don't worry, 200km in an Echo/Yaris won't be expensive on a weekly basis. I estimate that your car probably uses 7L/100km even when not driving efficiently; so I'd say 14L per week? Running on 91 (or even the 10% ethanol blends) is no more than $1.25/L if you fill it up on any day other than...

ITT: We tell me what car to buy

Need more info. What kind of car was it and what kind of car does she want? Performance? Modding? Auto/manual? Safe? Reliable? Intended usage? etc.. Are you planning to put more cash in?

    Good/best car between 40 - 60k

New but obviously when buying a used car, it's factored into the selling price (i.e. the previous owner would've paid it).

    Good/best car between 40 - 60k

I don't think so... I'm pretty sure in the past they were allowed to just say RRP $XXX without the caveat but I am no expert in this. EDIT: Look at ACCC New Car Pricing Turnabout | The Motor Report: Auto News And Reviews

    Good/best car between 40 - 60k

I remember that coming in but then it got repealed less than a month later... can't remember what the final rules/laws were but it wasn't as strict. I think they only required prices which weren't driveaway to explicitly mention they were not including taxes. As for a 2nd hand IS250... hmm... I...

    Good/best car between 40 - 60k

Isn't LCT included in the driveaway price which you mentioned? According to IS 250 Price & Options - Lexus Australia , the $61292 is the driveaway price for a prestige auto IS250 in NSW including LCT but not including insurance. If you are struggling to pay for insurance or are worried about LCT...

    Good/best car between 40 - 60k

It's a comfortable car to drive and more than suitable for an 18-19 year old's driving ability. The stigma of the car being aimed at an older audience however is something else.

    Good/best car between 40 - 60k

A brand new one will be around the $60k mark so I'd go for that if you want trouble-free motoring and the benefits of new car ownership (warranties, roadside assist, etc.. ) which may not otherwise be transferrable. That being said a used one with the luxury (satnav) pack and moonroof/etc might...

Are male of female drivers worse?

I don't know about you guys but I usually drive my gf around... even when I'm using her car. I'm inclined to think guys can drive alot more than girls (depending on circumstances of course).

Are male of female drivers worse?

LOL my post wasn't directed at anyone in particular... just something so that people either get back on topic or think a bit more before they post how much they spend on petrol a week without any other info to put it into context.

    Good/best car between 40 - 60k

Pretty much what you said mate. There's a difference between tiptronic and dual clutch transmissions. The first one is basically a normal automatic transmission which has a manual shift feature but it's still fundamentally an automatic based on a torque converter. This technology has been...

Are male of female drivers worse?

Again you can't compare fuel economy strictly on dollar amount it costs you per week... so many other factors, distance driven, cost of car, where the car is driven (and when, for traffic), etc...

    Speed Cameras

My mistake. I asked the coppers if I could take a photo and they said only one... so I aimed it as best I could to capture them all sitting at the North Rocks Scooters carwash :)

    Good/best car between 40 - 60k

It has paddle shifters if that's what people are getting at... but I'm not sure what 'flappy paddle gearbox' means exactly. Is it just an ordinary automatic with paddle shifts, or is it a dual clutch transmission with paddle shifts? They are two very different things. Paddle shifts have been...

    Good/best car between 40 - 60k

It's not the sportiest of cars but it'll get you where you want to go and you can accelerate hard if necessary. It's quite comfortable but IMO get the satnav. Without it, the interior looks a bit mismatched (in terms of the different LCD screens).

Are male of female drivers worse?

Yep all it does is make you look like a tool. I see others do it and then overtake them as I coast towards the lights as they turn green... but I know where they are coming from- beats me why but when I was on my red P's I did some pretty stupid things. Maybe thats why the RTA wants new learners...

Are male of female drivers worse?

Fuel efficiency is 30% car, 70% driver IMO. Not a factual relationship but for the majority of my mates who whinge about fuel consumption, it's their right foot which causes it to be inefficient. Sure some cars are worse than others (mine for example) but with very careful foot control I can get...

Are male of female drivers worse?

So after all these posts what do we conclude? 1. Slower speeds don't necessarily make people safer drivers. 2. Guys are more likely to knowingly do something stupid or dangerous. 3. Girls are more likely to unknowingly do something stupid or dangerous. 4. There is no consensus on what...
