    0-100 Km/H Dash - Times

Is the Euro R that much different to the standard Euro? I know in Singapore, the Euro R costs about the same as a 320i; and there is no other model of Accord Euro. ps. I think I've shown you the pics of the Euro R from my last trip right Ciel?

    Are supras good?

I think the G35 looks okay- better than the new WRX anyway. And yeh I've seen a few of those roaming around the CBD, and even saw one out in Fairfield not too long ago. Looks alright but it reminds me of the Nissan maxima/cefiro in terms of mainstreamness.

    Cadetships 2008/09

Re: Cadetships 2007 At the evening you get to listen to speeches from people who did cadetships and what they thought/learnt, then you get to meet people from the firms (both HR and cadets) and find out more about which firm you connect with and if the cadetship program/support offered is...

    Co-op vs Cadetship

That's definitely up for debate. You come back with alot more knowledge than a normal grad and are promoted faster (at least in Big4, you'll return at the highest level of grad- just before senior; but will usually be senioring jobs anyhow), and throughout uni you gain valuable work...

    Mid-tier firms/big4 and salaries

In Big4, at least in my experience and my friends, you get the standard 2 year contract with remuneration reviewed at least once every 12 months (or more frequent if deemed necessary or depending on the firm's "cycle" or processes), and then after your 2 years full time work, your contract gets...

    Cadetships 2008/09

Re: Cadetships 2007 Your numbers sound about right kazzak for offers made- but Deloitte should have some cadets listed since they took in the Horwath people. By any chance are you from PKF?

    Co-op vs Cadetship

Why burn bridges? But on a more important note IMO, mid-tier doesn't necessarily mean inferior. Some people thrive under the much closer-knit well-rounded-client-service environment than in a Big4 firm. Remember, it isn't so much a competition for you to try to get into the firm with the...

Is english (writing skills) a big part of commerce/business?

Maybe they do some form of balance sheet analysis later on *shrugs*... don't underestimate the power of interpretting data. But I agree with you turtleface- I've had my *** caned by people who I thought had extremely weak English in subjects which I previously studied for HSC (and they had...

Is english (writing skills) a big part of commerce/business?

    1. I think for a Career in Commerce you need good english (I mean practical English in terms of speaking/writing; not understanding Shakespeare). It'll definitely make the degree easier if you can speak/communicate well too. 2. You'd be surprised at how well some of the int'l students do in...

    Accounting Firm Service lines

Some firms do encourage rotational work where you work in different divisions for a few months at a time and switch; then later on in a year or two's time you pick the one you want to stay in. This is more noticeable in say Advisory (corp finance and the like) rather than Tax/Assurance.

    Cadetships 2008/09

Re: Cadetships 2007 So if someone is working on a tax cadetship, they don't even have to study Accounting at all? How will they understand the basics of things like GST payable/input tax credits, transfer pricing, gst agents, tax structures, etc...? I mean some stuff will obviously be taught on...

    Accounting Firm Service lines

But surely you wouldn't want to be a jack of all trades? Btw when you say service line, at least from a large firm perspective, I'm assuming you mean Assurance (audit) vs. Tax vs. Advisory kindof thing? Or were you referring to business units (eg. client groups such as financial services or...

    Cadetships 2008/09

Re: Cadetships 2007 Are you sure? I'm pretty confident that most firms offering accounting cadetships are expecting the people to study accounting. It doesn't matter if you study something else like Law with it (and some firms, even PwC) will permit Comm/Law on a cadetship; but ultimately...

    Cadetships 2008/09

Re: Cadetships 2007 Don't forget though, clients will also judge you upon first impressions. So if you are someone who typically doesn't leave a positive first impression, what do you think your clients will say? Especially if you consider the chargeout rates nowadays... I'm inclined to...

    BEST LAPTOP BRAND- Your Choice

Honestly it really depends what you want out of your laptop and what you are aiming to achieve. I voted for IBM because now that I'm older/working, I appreciate reliability, excellent build quality, excellent keyboard, etc... and don't really care for spec level (since I don't play games)...

    0-100 Km/H Dash - Times

I have a question for you guys who know anything about standards/design specs; when a manufacturer quotes the 0-100km/h time- how do they calculate it? Is it a real world example where they've employed the best shifter? Or is it theoretically calculated on a computer? Then I ponder, with an...

    Actuarial Consulting

I know a couple of people who work in my firm in the Advisory Actuarial division- it's quite specialised and tight-knit; almost like a small miniature copmany within the firm. I'm not even sure if they take fresh grads- there may be a need for a rotational-basis which is what alot of firms are...
