RTA dumbs down the new Red P's test...

Just saw this on the cover of the Daily Telegraph and thought I'd post it up; URL: http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,21592459-5001021,00.html All I can say is 'hmmm....'

    commodores

For some reason, meew reminds me of those kids who want their first car to be a Skyline or an Evo despite having little experience with high performance cars, relatively new to driving, in the very expensive to insure category (ie. <25 male) and limited budget. That being said, I'm gunning...

    P1 Restrictions coming July07!

If people did the 50 hours properly (ie. not fudged), then I'm pretty sure that they would be decent drivers... the only thing left after that is making sure they don't do stupid things on the road now that they can drive. I fail to see how the 120 hours does that much difference if now all...

    Young Achievement Australia

As mentioned above, it really depends on your group. There will always be people there who are only doing it for the cert and do the minimal contribution and pretty much, achieve nothing. Even though there's rumours that people can "get the sack", I've never seen or heard it actually happen...

auto license, can i drive a manual?

I think you count as a LEARNER (ie. L Plates). From memory though you don't get in trouble if you put on a lower-class plate on your car (eg. Red P's if you're on Green/Full) as long as you abide by the conditions of those plates (eg. 90km/h speed limit for Red P's). Don't quote me on this!

    jobs without customers

When you think about it... pretty much every job has some form of 'customer' or 'interaction'... but in my opinion, now is a good time to develop your customer relations skills which will definitely be of benefit later on to you.

    Are supras good?

    1. Very hot 2. Should be alright if it's been kept in real good shape and not modified or pushed hard... but questionable, especially if it's been modified a lot. 3. Ranging from very pricey to super pricey depending on condition/modifications as well as how old you are and so on. 4. FTOs...

    Vactioner Programs

I agree with your post that my experiences may not necessarily be indicative of the true vaccie experience, and then similarly, yours may not be typical of what one should expect. The point about training/development at firms which I made was more aimed at emphasising the long-term benefits of...

I wonder where that engineering guy is... thought he would've raided this thread.

Which is harder, Accounting or Microeconomics?

Probably. I just threw that in because there are still some Commerce jobs which do require marks beyond a Credit average. LOL "no pain no gain".

Which is harder, Accounting or Microeconomics?

I don't know if it's true or not but I've heard quite a few of the exclusive IBs are restrictive in their applications and anything below the HD cutoff is likely to land you in the recycle bin.

    Grand Theft Auto IV.

I still remember the build up to GTA3 back on IGN... and I bought it at launch (before the censorship) and it is by far, my most-played game ever on PS2... it's as if, all the new games (eg. Saints Row) which tries to copy the formula just don't get it right. The only thing I didn't like about...

    P1 Restrictions coming July07!

I think that's because when they introduced that, they don't want those who already bought cars to be left with a car which cannot be driven (and thus resulting in a multitude of complains/protests perhaps?)... It also comes up on your license :( Sigh.. even my green P's says no prohibited...

Which is harder, Accounting or Microeconomics?

What I don't get is... what is the point of bragging that your course is supposedly more difficult than ours? You picked it knowing fully well that it would require a lot of effort and dedication so what are you complaining about? What is the point of comparing apples and oranges..., when you...

Which is harder, Accounting or Microeconomics?

Wait until you have a practice set to complete- if you tried rote learning things, there is always something *unique* to throw you off (eg. does an item meet the proper recognition criteria to be on a balance sheet to begin with; and then, what value should be recognised on the balance sheet)...

    Vactioner Programs

By the way with regards to your queries, under normal circumstances, I do not believe the firm will reimburse you for expenses incurred in travelling to/from job interviews or in your daily routine to reach the office. However, some firms may reimburse travel costs which are in beyond what your...

    Vactioner Programs

I don't know where you were working but we have to do training both in accounting/technical skill (eg. I just finished my AIFRS training today) and non-accounting areas (I also finished training on how to use Pivottables in Excel a couple of weeks ago)- but then, maybe these programs are not...

    Sam's Surf Shop?

LOL I have the solutions to Barry's Nursery (the 2006 practice set) which were posted on Vista... but doubt they are of any use to you.

Which is harder, Accounting or Microeconomics?

Agreed. But then even for some people who try to follow and stay on top of things... some people just don't get their debits and credits unfortunately. At least with economics you can try to rote learn the consequences of various scenarios.
