    Top 'speed' done and where?

Howstuffworks.com might be of interest to you :) Torque is the force/strength... it's like a treadmill. You may be able to run very very fast on it when it's flat, but if you set the incline up so that it's like running on a hill, your body hasn't changed.. but suddenly you aren't able to...

    Top 'speed' done and where?

You'd have to have pretty darn ideal conditions for even a modified Lancer (not counting Evo) to reach 240..... even on the highway, an Evo IX couldn't keep up with our 745 at 235-240ish.

    Sports or Luxury?

I'm inclined to also think that even though the features trickle down to the cheaper models, there will always be demand for something 'different' or 'exclusive'; and not necessarily just for the social status. In recent times though, the big brands have been forced to just up the performance...

How long is too long for food to arrive?

LOL it's not so easy to cook at home when you're at work :( But... I think that your idea is a great one 'coz honestly, if they expect us to waste an hour sitting there whilst we have work to do, it's unreasonable.

    Student bank accounts

Not sure about student accounts.. I heard NAB is quite good but can't confirm if they still have the offers of no-fees for students. As for credit card, I personally use Virgin credit card. Zero membership/annual fees and an interest-free period (ie. you can use it like a 30-day charge card).

    Astra CdTi

LOL Cooper was the car of choice for me for a while... even bought the toy cars and so on. But then when the time came to buy it, I had lost interest in it... the drive away price was > $42k, and for something with a 1.6L engine and not even leather seats (I had Base model specced with CVT, H/K...

Mazda 3 - Yey or Ney?

Civic Sport is running an old 2L engine which is nothing exciting; and I think it's priced more towards the normal Mazda 2L engine rather thant he SP23 models. It's the 1.8L (103kW) which is the "new engine" with all the technology/innovation. As for your comment about underpowered- for the...

    Sports or Luxury?

On a specsheet, there's no reason to go for a luxury sedan over the conventional normal one. Honestly speaking, until you've driven a real luxury sedan, you never really realise. That being said, whether it's worth the hefty price tag or not is another matter. If you look at the Top Speed...

Mazda 3 - Yey or Ney?

LOL I'm a bit biased too... but I did seriously consider buying the SP23 at one stage.

    UNSW Asia- your thoughts?

Full fee paying? *shrugs* My cousin was most disappointed... she told her parents she wanted to study in UNSW (so she could come to Australia) and coincidentally, UNSW opened the Singapore campus near where she lives... no trip to Sydney anymore!

    Preparing for Uni Commerce

I've got stuff if you want- PM me your address and I can send you stuff to read. Although it's probably best to wait until uni starts since lecturers change course syllabus very last minute.. and when I say last minute, I mean, right before the lecture sometimes! If it helps, for B Comm...

    CPA or CA?

It is possible to get both... but it'll take a long time. You need to have the right uni prereqs to undertake studies, and then go and do them both sequentially (I doubt you can do them both at the same time). Each has their own requirements for work experience and so on.... Honestly, you'd...

How long is too long for food to arrive?

I agree about pre/half-cooking. Sure I don't want old food, but by the same token, if the restaurant only has a limited number of menu items available, they should at least prepare a bit in advance to cater for the surge of demand at lunch time.

Mazda 3 - Yey or Ney?

Isn't the "Sports" model just a different equipment level since they all have the same 2.0L engine? It's only the SP23 and MPS which have an actual sportier performance from my understanding. As for what I think of Mazda3... I think it's very overrated. I'm not a fan of the very dark interior...

    Sports or Luxury?

LOL I haven't experienced "uber uber luxury" before, but after sitting in some cars, I definitely can see the difference between the <$100k luxury and the >$250k+ range.. seat warmers, leather seats, etc... those aren't really the items which (IMO) constitute luxury. It's more of the whole...

How long is too long for food to arrive?

After we finished lunch at 1:45 (food arrived 1:25, we had ordered at around 12:10), one of the guys went to tell them off... and they told us off for not understanding that they're a busy restaurant (it's not really.. I think capacity is around 40ish?). But what really annoyed us was we saw...

How long is too long for food to arrive?

Just wondering what you guys thought... 'coz the other day, my work colleagues and I went to a small restaurant (no booking) and we waited 1 hour and 10mins for our food to arrive. There was 8 of us, and we only ordered standard dishes. Around 45mins in, we felt like walking off since a lot of...

    Cadetships/Traineeships- which uni?

Have fun! I wonder how many firms started already.. in my year, generally speaking, the smaller/mid-tiers tended to start sooner.
