after 7-8yrs they still care about your uni marks?

Man... after uni- then comes CA. How exciting.

    Graduate accounting positions

I think in alot of firms, the lower levels tend to be across the board. It's only once you reach Senior that it starts to be connected with KPIs both of the individuals and the particular division.

Deloitte to merge with Horwath Sydney

Nah deloitte ain't bad. It's quite good IMO. As for 2+2 vs Sandwich... lol.. we have to decide by the 24th!

Where can I buy the Corporations Act?

I also would say online is the way to go. Alot of unis have links to good databases too (for other more obscure things)- but austlii is the place for law!

    Sample HSC Question

o_O Never heard of it being called 'sound notes' unless it was (as simonj2 mentioned) specifically related to midi files. I would approach it similarly to you simon, because that's the only way I could interpret "sound notes". Instead of sampling the audio (ie. taking a sample of the real world...

    Normalisation

Usually they show you an existing database right...? And the quesiton asks you to draw the new one, or if it's only a 1marker, you just identify the fields which are redundant. I agree with what ugly14 said- there's no need to populate the database unless it's either a big question or a...

    Negative Social Effects

LOL... I always used (from memory) the unemployment/deskilling, copyright infringements/violations (lol) and privacy of data. These topics were always easy to discuss solutions to such as training programs, watchdogs/advocates and data security/authorisation matrix/access rights... Try not to...

    Is IPT your easiest subject?

Lucky! We all wanted to do accelerated IPT back in year8/9... but our school wouldn't allow it. Traditionally our school has only accelerated economics I believe.

    ACID test

I agree. It's good to know it anyway. Not like it's that hard to remember right? It's been a year for me and I still remember it :P

    IPT Marathon 2006

Depending on length of space available or question value, I would say that's a good answer- but there's room for examples. I personally would write the internet is useful for things where the target audience includes people from a broad spectrum such as newspapers or weather reports. Contrasting...

Help: BEST METHOD TO TACKLE IPT EXAM DOWN

I was writing non-stop right until the last second. IIRC I wrote more than 50 pages... and got 99% overall. There's always more you can write. My approach was always- don't just answer the question, answer it in a way that if someone asked you that question, they would understand the answer.

    Communication protocol

LOL i remember doing that question and writing both the technical definition, a more practical definition (ie. easier to understand), and examples of protocols.

    ACID test

From memory, the ACID test isn't taught in every school and when I rung up the HSC contact/help line last year, they told me it probably wouldn't be in it- not to say that it won't be in it though!

Help: BEST METHOD TO TACKLE IPT EXAM DOWN

I personally always read the longer questions first- ie. the scenario ones. This way when I read through MCs, it gives me ideas for what else I can include in the scenario. Whilst you could use reading time just to blitz through the MCs... I think, just like English, it's good to read the longer...

    IPT Marathon 2006

Sorry I haven't got much time on me but as a suggestion, some of you guys are giving very short answers which IMO, don't do the question justice. Not going into specifics, if it helps, when asked a question try to include a definition, and to further reinforce it (and to get the full marks)...

    Is IPT your easiest subject?

Yeh it was weird. My school stopped offering it yet most people got band sixes, and for such a small class, it was amazing that a few of us got >95. Certainly pulled my UAI up.

    Help Please

I've seen questions in the past where you've had to calculate it. Let me just say this- you guys are really on the ball for this IPT exam :) Even I can't remember if I was this "into" it.

    Ipt Hsc Exam 2006

My one was pretty easy/straightforward in terms of question difficulty/requiring you to remember syllabus.... so I'd say your one is going to be hard! It all comes down to preference really. I prefer questions which require out-of-the-syllabus thinking.

[U] Advantages of the grandfather, father, son backup procedure are that it ensures that there is always a backup of the data should an issue arise such as data loss or data corruption because there is always a regular creation of a backup. Furthermore, by having multiple generations of...
