    Accounting Cadetships

LOL I didn't say he isn't highly valued, but rather, it isn't busy season, and whilst we will be teaching him as much as we can on the job- he did miss out on the audit training which the rest of us (including the UNSW coop guy who you're friends with) had. EDIT: Just thought I'd add this in...

    Vacation Work

As someone who was involved with recruitment, it's alot more than just whether the partner likes you or not- that's more of the final decision. I won't go into too much more depth but there are a lot of other factors to consider in terms of when they choose to make the offers, or when they even...

Who came first in their ipt class :D

I think if you guys are coming 2nd/3rd with those marks, your teacher should make it harder to get good marks so that you gain a bigger distinction/differentiation between the top students.

    Accounting Cadetships

Not in the mood to reply but in short 1. Haven't had any box ticking / photocopying yet 2. Coops are much much cheaper to send out to a client as opposed to an undergrad. And based on your post, you make it sound as if cadets/undergrads aren't of a high quality calibre? Are you also...

Who came first in their ipt class :D

I wish our school let us do accelerated back then... I remember we asked the principal back in year 8 if we could but he said no :(

    Can L drivers have passengers?

But... for the safety of others as well as yourselves, I'd suggest you try minimising the number of distractions rather than increasing them.

    CA achiever program

WHK doesn't count as a firm, and last time I checked, his sig was based on the worldwide rankings by BRW last year.

    Commerce in the major universities

I think as someone else mentioned, just do your best and see how it goes. I heard rumours that it'll rise this year for UNSW as well with the new courses and improved faculty but really, these things can't be predicted and anything anyone tells you is either going to give you a false sense of...

    Accounting Cadetships

You talk to your employer. Remember, as a full time employee, you'll also have contractual obligations in terms of telling them in advance and so on... but also remember there's the probation period whereby for the first 3 months, either party can terminate the contract with no penalty.

Cadetships Scholarships Co-Ops Not related to Accounting

There's cadetships in other Commerce fields such as economics (I believe the RBA has some kind of cadetship program?), as well as other industries altogether- my friend in construction has a cadetship. I think cadetship is now used as a general term to describe a fulltime job for people still...

    Accounting Cadetships

Really depends on the firm I'd imagine but in my experience and from what I've heard from my peers in various other big/mid/botique firms, cadetships are quite flexible. It's not like you're randomly going off each week to do something pointless- you're doing something on a regular basis which...

Umm without knowing the company I haven't got a clue what to say :P It all depends on their policies, their flexibility, their culture, etc...

Cadetship Takers: Uni Course - UTS vs UNSW

Don't forget though.. some people elect to continue working even during their full time study :P

    Vacation Work

Yeh with accounting alot of the time it's faster to do a quick calc in your head than to try and button mash it in!... but then sometimes a calculator is faster- but if there's one thing which thumps them all... Soft copy excel spreadsheet and SUM command! :D

    Ernst & Young

Tsk tsk... that's why they took wireless cards away from undergrads :(

    New Honda Civic

Haha... I looked at that colour and thought it was more suited to the conservative oldies :P But it's upto personal preference really. I wouldn't have minded the red either. LOL but then the Accord Euro is considerably bigger/heavier too- not everyone wants a hugeass car! Every man's entitled...

    difference between business and commerce?

Not sure about other U's but UTS's B Business is pretty much the same as UNSW's B Commerce... apparently, B Business is more "practical" but the coursework seems a bit easier than UNSW's requirements.
