Yeh they probably should get an extra seat, the point of air travel is to accomodate for people in society.
No it isn’t. The point of air travel is for air line companies to make lots of money. Giving away a seat that would otherwise cost $1000 to a fat person, disadvantages the airline and disadvantages the other passengers. I have a mental problem and believe I have an imaginary friend. Should my imaginary friend get a free seat because I’m a raving sped?
A lot of people in soceity are obese! And it barely impacts on other passengers, except that an extra person could be in that seat. That being said, I think that other person as well as the individual who is overweight would rather not be in that situation lol.
Sweet! Tell them to give me a call and I’ll explain to them how they can be LESS FUCKING FAT.
How about unless these fat people can give a doctors certificate from three different specialists, a GP, Psychiatrist and Dietician, saying their weight is beyond their control, that we chuck them off the damn plane. I hate being stuck next to fat people on any form of shared transport, invasion of space much.
Hahah, you’re the bestest.
By saying "they probably should get an extra seat" I meant should be GIVEN an extra seat; as in FOR FREE. Jesus sorry for apparently not making it clear enough for you.
And there has been much mention of wether it is better for the overweight individual to either a) have one seat and annoy the people who are next to them or b) have the extra seat and therefore extra room.
I'm sure that unless the seat was free, many overweight individuals wouldn't bother paying for an extra. To all the people complainging saying it is unfair and "they should pay for their on seat", I was merely pointing out that there is little negative effect on other airline passengers except for the fact that for every extra seat used, one less person can travel on the plane. I then went on to indicate that it is unlikely the person who could have been in that seat would enjoy being squished up next to someone who doesn't quite fit, it would be an incredibly unpleasent flight. Neither would this be a pleasent experience for the overweight individual.
For starters, you can get rid of this little ‘LOL OMG DID I ESPLAIN IT 4 YEW?!’ attitude, because so far you’ve been making ridiculous points at people far more developed, and far smarter than you.
It has been explained numerous times, and if you had bothered to learn to read, you would have seen some very concise examples of how giving away a seat for free impacts on the other passengers. It’s not about whether the fat person is going to annoy other passengers, it’s the fact that the airline is going to have to recoup their losses somehow (and this will probably translate into higher fees for those of us who have to pay). Airline travel is a luxury. It’s not a right. People do not have the right to get on planes, hence why they have to pay for them. If you’re happy for airlines to give away a free seat, I hope you have no issue with the government paying for the seats of all people over 120kg.
Fact is, if they are on the flight; they (morbidly obese people) are going to take up two seats. Making them pay more just humiliates them further.
Sorry, what? Them paying for their own seating arrangement is more humiliating than being given a free seat because their fatass can’t fit in the chair? Are you retarded? Seriously?
I do believe that most fat people do not want to be fat. Therefore they always want to lose weight. Subsidising their ticket is not going to make much of an effect on their weight loss, it really isn’t. They already want to lose weight; they already look down on themselves for being fat.
You’re not a fucking psychologist. I want to see some peer reviewed shit discussing the psychology of fat people. If they want to lose weight so bad, they can get off their fat asses and go on a low calorie diet. It’s not hard, thousands of fatties before them have done it.
Subsidising doesn’t make much difference to anyone else; furthermore, it won’t reduce obesity.
That isn’t the point of giving them a free chair you twat. And of course giving them a free chair makes a difference to the rest of the passengers, THE AIRLINE HAS TO RECOUP THEIR LOSSES SOME HOW? So what happens if there are 3 fatties on a plane. That’s 3 seats the plane has lost in profit. How do they recoup this loss?
