Much better to stick it out in Adv imho when you've come this far.

    2014 Reading Goals?

Yeah doubt I'd be a Heathcliff fan girl lol.

    How much holiday study?

Sounds like you are working hard and will be on track to a good score. Don't fret on your school rank too btw, it's stress over something you can't change in yr 12 (like scaling once you are actually locked into your subs), you have to focus your efforts on the work. There's numerous examples...

    2014 Reading Goals?

I've read the bolded, and want to read the italics! Book Thief is one of my all time fave books. I read it because this enigma of a boy chose it for his reading assignment and talked about in great depth at the end of Yr 8. Never Let Me Go was right up there as well for me, I read it start of...

    Opinion on subject choices, HELP

Subject choices fine, but to aid in that 96+ please do advanced english. Standard aligns so terribly, and you have to put effort into english anyway as it always counts, so should do advanced. You tend to get more sophisticated texts to write about and analyse as well generally.

    Questions about Japanese Continuers

    1) It scales handsomely. 2) The HSC exams are on the site for perusing. 3) I'll leave it to qualified hands (above and someone I asked to leave input). But generally for language listening/speaking, I always found listening to the language a lot (via watching TV shows with subtitles) or...

Back to school HW diary tips needed

Heya, I'll give you a tip for the diaries. I put in important school due dates, important EC events, deadlines etc. in my diary (though disclaimer I was way more a wall planner, and had a colour highlighter for each type of school task due date and it was colour co-ordinated with my timetable...

    Subject Selections 2014

Yes she's lovely, she was really involved in running SSP bio. Ar ok nice to hear it was cooler than IMMU cause I did consider doing that, funnily enough I am doing an INMS unit now ;) (Sadly prob in WRIT's place than I might do first sem next year depending on what stuff goes on) It...

    Biology 2013ers MARATHONN

I'd love for this thread to be revived to be a marathon for all our 2014er biology students :) To answer the last Q here cause there were quite a few Qs about it in our BOL subforum, I'll xpost my attempt at explanation from another post, and post a new question for the marathoners to attempt...

Whats is the difference between these 2 laws

Hello :) Here is my explanation: These two laws were established by Mendel's famous pea plant experiment. Law of Segregation: •Law of segregation states that factors(alleles) for the same characteristic occur in pairs in an individual. These pairs separate at gamete formation, so that a...

    Is YANNADAH a HOLE?

And also with this, for students at Cumbo you can pack your lunch and have a weekly snack pack, that's at least how my college does it. But most people who study at that campus for physio have a car with them cause it's quite a trek from main campus. So a lot of people opt to still live on...

changing units- from normal to advanced

Yeah this, I changed to geos1902(from geos1002) in the second week of uni and it's all pretty seamless. Just heed le census date :) It's not a big stress and common for students to switch their units a bit. (esp if you are indecisive like me :P)

Human biology vs concepts in biology?

Hmm yes they are really similar 1001-->1002 considering the report is stepped through so much on such a similar prac that it's quite spoonfed both times. Seeing as you did both, I assume you found the lecture pacing and that similar as well :) I found in 1902 they take the reins off a bit more...

changing units- from normal to advanced

http://sydney.edu.au/science/cstudent/ug/forms/2014-special-permission-form.pdf One of these simple forms and lodge at faculty of science. Iirc, not sure if you can do it through enrolment variation because they need to verify you have the requirements for some adv units. (Someone who did adv...

    Question about subjects

From just comparison, the nature of the adv component differs across science subs. Like the way geos adv is different is really different to how they do it in bio or chem and stuff. (I've done Adv/SSP bio, adv chem and adv geos as background lol) But generally, if you are eligible it's...

    units of study problem

I'd do adv maths and normal chem imho. But you are eligible for adv chem so if you want to try it. Just I found adv chem hard from a similar chem mark but if you are motivated do it. But if you are doing normal bio definitely, doing adv maths and adv chem should be manageable.

Human biology vs concepts in biology?

Oh the code for adv concepts in bio is biol1911 too btw. It breaks the pattern lol I didn't find them too much work tbh, because it's not all additional work, in biol1911 you will just have some lecture series at a greater depth opposed to having additional all new work on top etc. The pracs...
