    Good double degree in Law?

I wouldn't recommend this unless you're actually very interested in both law and engineering and are willing to work 2-3 times as hard as everyone else at uni for 5 years straight.

    Good double degree in Law?

    Most people would say so

    Are journalism degrees actually useless?

That's because the STEM grads on the forum are the ones complaining about not being able to secure a job. The ones that did secure a job don't usually go to the forum and say "Yo guys, I got a job", so forums will generally be one-sided. I agree that getting a job in STEM isn't as easy as what...

    Finance question help (FINS1613)

I'm assuming you've done as ON said and still can't figure it out. I'm not 100% sure if I'm right about what you don't understand, but I'll say it anyway. The first equation is basically revenue - expenses < 0. Revenue is constant per year (stated in question) which is why it doesn't grow. If...

    First Impressions of Uni

nah, I do deny that someone like that spends their time on BoS though. What I also don't deny is that trolling is really easy on online forums where you have anonymity.

intern and job qns (electrical, civil, mechanical)

Mech engg deals quite a lot with energy. They're the people who deal with the thermodynamics and stuff, and actually deal with the actual generator which generates the electricity.

    Investment Banking

Doesn't mean you can just start up shop and expect the money to come. Companies go to firms like UBS, JPM, etc. because of the reputation that they have built up over decades (centuries even, for some). That's something you don't get if you create your own company. If working for a large firm...

SMH article on HECS vs upfront

But if you're not a scumbag, you'd actually pay the debt off yourself either before leaving or while working overseas.

    How much does uni cost?

Don't think so. Comm is around 11k per year as BLIT2014 said, so it'd be around 33k after 3 years.

Internal law transfer likelihood at UNSW /USYD?

I was talking about internal transfers. USYD is accepting more high-school leavers into Law, and accepting fewer transfers. To accept more high-school leavers, they dropped the ATAR to 99.5 officially. To accept fewer transfer students, the required ATAR/WAM's increase since they'll only be...

    Calling all Aeronautical (Space) engineers

Lots. Expect there to be 18+ hours per week at least.

    Calling all Aeronautical (Space) engineers

Yeah you can. After your first year, if your average is D or higher you can transfer into the Aeronautical (Space) degree.

What Uni/Courses if I want to work for Lockheed Martin/Boeing

Once you graduate from ADFA, you need to work for them for the full length of the degree + 1 extra year. So if you do an engineering degree there (4 years), you'd need to work in the armed forces for 5 years. Tbh this is more a positive than a negative, you get a guaranteed job for at least 5...

How hard is Engineering compared to HSC

Well gravity changes depending on where the uni is located so... close enough?
  18. Amundies

Internal law transfer likelihood at UNSW /USYD?

Wasn't that the reason why USYD dropped their ATAR requirement for Law? So that they get more law students from high school, and fewer from internal transfers. That would probably be why they raised it up to 99+.

Employement Options with Bachelor of Engineering/Commerce

Some companies do value the double degree though, such as IBM. A double degree is also helpful if you're thinking of going into highly competitive grad roles like IB or management consulting. Doing engg/comm also means you can apply for any jobs in the comm side or engg side. It won't benefit...

What Uni/Courses if I want to work for Lockheed Martin/Boeing

If you were really interested in fighter jets and missile defence, you should have gone to ADFA. If you see the profiles of lots of the top execs of defence companies, many of them worked for the defence forces early in their careers. Also would have solved your job prospects problem. But yes...
