What I got using that substitution...

    Gravitational potential energy (GPE)

Why don't you just think about the questions before posting? You look at what you have and what you want and see which equation(s) to use. There's a reason why people who don't do maths/general can still do HSC physics - there are no tricks involved in calculations. Maybe self learning isn't...

    ATAR Estimate Please :)

Yes it is about the same, play around with atar calcs that give aggregates - though still slightly lower than advanced.

    HSC 2016 MX1 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2016 3U Marathon Nice, I did it the same way as well. Prove %5Cfrac%7Ba_1+a_2+a_3%7D%7B3%7D%5Cgeq%20%5Csqrt%5B3%5D%7Ba_1a_2a_3%7D Using 3U inequalities only . (You can't assume Cauchy's Inequality obviously)

    HSC 2017 Chemistry Marathon

Re: HSC Chemistry Marathon 2017 You would get 2/5, maybe 3 if the markers were very generous. You didn't make any reference to the extract except restating it, also your assessment completely contradicts the information you gave.

    HSC 2017 Chemistry Marathon

Re: HSC Chemistry Marathon 2017 Polylactic Acid (PLA) is different than most thermoplastic polymers in that it is derived from renewable resources like corn starch or sugar cane. Most plastics, by contrast, are derived from the distillation and polymerization of nonrenewable petroleum...

    HSC 2017 Chemistry Marathon

Re: HSC Chemistry Marathon 2017 It really isn't, that whole dotpoint is 100% memorising, defeats the purpose when you have access to wikipedia (you can look it up yourself PLA/PHB). Someone who doesn't do chemistry could answer it just by copying out the information there.

    Scaling and Raw Marks

No one gets scaled marks, only the aligned ones. You can buy your hsc paper to get your raw marks.

    HSC 2017 Chemistry Marathon

Re: HSC Chemistry Marathon 2017 You would get maybe 3 marks max for that response. And that biopolymer question really is not hard when you have access to the internet while constructing a response...
