What do you mean "style" and "that sort of format"? All the papers have the same format and they cover all the topics. Why does it matter about the difficulty? Everyone is sitting the same hsc exam.

I put your predictions for his marks into a few calcs, assuming he gets 95/47/95 for 3 subjects and "borderline" so 89-90 for modern history and mid 80's for the rest, he's looking at about 95-96. I guess your friend got very high band 6's in high scaling subjects so it seems viable.
