    Which is easier?

Oh. They look at how well the specific option cohort did in the common sections and go from there. So for example if the quanta cohort for really well in the common section as opposed to the medical cohort then we quanta will be adjusted more favourably than medical. So there isn't a...

    What happened???

The point is that the name ADV isn't trying to imply 'the others are dumb' but that this one has advanced courses as an essential part of the degree...

    How do you derive this?

Terry Lee has a habit of not reading syllabi when he writes textbooks. Ignore it.
  14. asianese

    How do you derive this?

It is a MX2 technique - not in the 2/3U syllabi.

    How do you derive this?

    What textbook?
  16. asianese

    What happened???

No lol. There is no such thing as a 'remark' in the HSC - your mark will ONLY be changed if there was a clerical error in processing it from what the marker wrote down, to what was entered into the system. You cannot get a scan of your solutions and bring them to the board and say: GIB ME MOAR...

    How do you derive this?

I'll show you the method anyway - the process is called 'implicit differentiation' because y is 'implicitly' - (NOT explicitly - y is not the subject here!) defined as a function of x. (We usually assume y is a function of x anyway) So in the normal way, we can apply the 'differentiation...
