    UNIVERSITY OF CANBERRA

Just because I have an issue with choosing to espouse university rankings at face value, how is ANU measured and determined to be the best university in Australia?

Missed Cut-off for Commerce by 0.35????

UNSW don't count General Maths or Business Studies for HSC Plus as far as I know.
  3. A

    Which UNI?

    1) Cut-off can always change. 2) Do bonus points apply to this degree and your situation? 3) When do INSEARCH applications close?

    All the good teachers leave...

If he chose the subject for that reason, he was screwed from the start.

    Kim Jong Il dead

North Koreans would rather seek refuge in China rather than South Korea if there was an on-going Civil War.

A Day In The Life of a Law Student

I don't do Law myself but from what I have heard, there would be a lot of reading involved ranging from the laws itself to precedents and the like.

    Kim Jong Il dead

My mum says she doubts that the generals will allow Kim Jong Un to take control so looks like we are in for some tumultuous times.

    Transfer to Law?

Considering you are looking to do a combined degree, what have you chosen as the other half of your program?
  9. A

0.85 away from getting my first preference!!

It's all on a case by case basis and it depends on whether universities find that it is financially viable to increase student capacity.

UNSW or USYD Law? (Question upgraded)

I would be inclined to say that USYD would be the best option because of that scholarship. Try not to get too worked up about purported reputation when choosing a degree program.

    speeches module b

In terms of that Module, there is an expectation that students understand ALL the speeches prescribed. I have to say that it would be a good move for the Board to specifically ask for a certain speech as it will detract students from using prepared responses.

    B Engineering/B Laws

This is quite a good post. A lot of people who try to figure out what they will do after they complete a combined degree always try to look at jobs which explicitly require both areas of expertise. I have found that many people who did Engineering as an undergraduate did their thing and then...

    Arts/Education?

I would recommend heading over to the UNSW Info Day checking out whether you can have a chat with some current students.
  14. A

Right. Time to start studying again?

If you feel that you're itching to hit the books, then feel free. Just keep in mind that you have only done 1 term of work, so you're somewhat limited in regards to content before you start moving ahead. Personally, I didn't really study during the summer holidays when I did the HSC and in...

Missed Cut-off for Commerce by 0.35????

    1) Bonus points are equivalent to increasing your ATAR but obviously the terms differ between universities if they offer such a pathway. 2) That "inflatedness" probably comes from the university taking into account bonus points. The ATAR cut-off is an indicator of the last student who got...

    UWS Law

What a load of shit that is.

Tried LOTSA research, now tell me: uni TRANSFER or REPEAT yr12??

Forget repeating Year 12. That's a definite no go-zone. Where is this B Law/Arts degree you are looking at?
  18. A

First, second and third round offers & tranfering

I would advise you to try and maintain a distinction average to ensure that you can transfer in a year's time. Also pick units which can be directly credited to the requirements on Business Admin.

How do course preferences work in UAC?

Not unless you put a different course in a higher spot than your offered course.
  20. A

    UWS Law

I would also advise that you participate in activities such as debating, mooting and mock client interviews. These are critical skills which are used by lawyers so it really pushes you in the right direction.
