I've entered my trial results into an ATAR calculator, apparantly people get similar marks for their trials than their HSC, might as well start applying for apprenticeships now.
I'm stressed because I don't do particularly well scaling subjects, my school ranking is poor, and my cohort are a bunch of lazy dropkicks who instead of studying these holidays are going to the beach, playing GTA V, going to parties and going shopping. Massive generalisation I know but it...
My ranks are:
English Advanced - 7/32
English Extention 1 - 3/11
Economics - 2/6
General Maths - 1/28
Business Studies - 4/11
Studies Of Religion - 27/36
Legal Studies - 5/11
My school rank is in the 300s :(
Am I on track for 82 or should I consider a different course/career?
There's an in class essay coming up and I want to do well in it, so i'd like to have you guys give me some suggestions about content. The question is going to be as follows:
Compare and contrast the ways in which the composers of The Fiftieth Gate and the Youtube stimulus represent and shape...

Just a question, can you do English Extention 1 whilst doing Standard? If you can i'd suggest doing that, as your two best units of English count. If you do EE1 it will minimise the impact, and if you pick up EE2 it could completely remove Standard English from your ATAR. But if you can't do...
Done CSSA English Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 wasn't too bad but Paper 2...that Hamlet question really threw me (and a lot of other people in my cohort) off.
Pick the subjects that YOU want to do, not subject that teachers/parents say you should do because of scaling or whatever. Don't pick Legal, biggest regret of my HSC (I should have done Geography). Then again though it depends on the teacher, mine is terrible, boring, unstructured, improvised...
My problem is though i'm doing poorly in Legal Studies too (I hate the subject and I have a boring teacher). I've decided to wait until after I get my trials back though, if I don't do well in them i'll look further into repeating.
My internal ranks seem to be getting worse, and i'm now considering repeating Year 12, but without subjects which I am doing poorly in (doing subjects which I will perform better in). I'm at a low ranked (300s) school, and i've stuffed a number of assessments (in several subjects), so it's not...
Bella Vista is pretty wealthy too, lots of expensive homes there. Admittedly though, wealthy people in the west, northwest and southwest tend to be successful tradies (ie, those who own construction, plumbing, electrical companies) rather than bankers/doctors/lawyers etc, and there is not as...
These days the socioeconomic lines between 'north', 'east' and 'west' are getting more blurred. Believe it or not, there are housing commission areas and therefore 'poor people' (shock horror!) in the East and North (Maroubra, Malabar, Eastlakes, South Coogee, Hillsdale, Kirribilli and Artarmon...
Found this thread and decided to resurrect it because I actually went in to the Olympia today with a friend. I don't really see what's so bad about the owner, he didn't say all that much but he was polite enough. I had a caramel milkshake, it was surprisingly pretty darn good, served in one of...
