    Accelerated maths anyone?

Well since they're accelerated they'll have already done the Preliminary assessments etc the previous year... so they don't do the Prelim assessments of their cohorts. (If that's what you mean?) And yeah, they sit the HSC before us too so no HSC exam in maths for them next year.

    Organising Work (merged)

Hehe... I've always used grid maths books too, ever since high school just like you :) Oh, and for organisation, I have a separate (big) folder for each subject (except I've lumped Maths 2U and 3U together, and likewise for English Advanced + Extension :p) I keep all asessement tasks, tests...

    Accelerated maths anyone?

Acceleration means that they're completing a subject ahead of their chohort (normally by a year). Eg. the Year 11 maths accelerants are doing the HSC course and will be sitting the HSC in maths this year. :) It's an advantage, too; if you screw up you can just repeat - lol :p

    Subject choices for yr12

I'm Asian but I'm breaking the trend by studying Biology instead of those finance subjects most Asians do... LOL :p And I'm not smart enough to do MX2, so that's another subject against the trend :D Man, I'm such a rebel... lol

Preliminary HSC Yearly Exams Thoughts & Results

Ouch! That much essay writing would render me with a very, VERY sore hand, albeit extremely well-exercised! Lol :p And yeah I forgot my quotes for Extension English too... Shakespeare's quotes are soooo weird :uhoh:

    Subject choices for yr12

I'm keeping all my units the same :) I kind of regret not choosing English Extension 2 though... I love writing short stories! But I absolutely could not handle 13 units, I want to focus on other subjects as well... oh well, plenty of time to write stuff after the HSC :p Oh, and to the OP...

Preliminary HSC Yearly Exams Thoughts & Results

Just wondering - who else had a crap timetable for the Prelims like I did? I had both Chemistry and 3 unit maths on Tuesday of the first week :( THEN on Friday that same week was Physics and Extension English... GAH!:burn: So yeah... I just absolutely DIED on Tuesday. Friday was only slighty...

What Chem Prerequisite Knowledge to know?

Well my teacher says that Chem is a subject where you need to be able to understand one topic before you can move on to the next topic. So based on that I'd say you'd need a pretty good understanding of what a mole is, at least, and how to use it in calculations, and your solubility rules...

Well I thought the time travel perspective was interesting. :p And yeah, it was better than certain books I've had to read this year. :mad1:

worst/best english novel you have ever read in school?

Best novels: Goodnight Mister Tom in Year 8 (but such a sad book!) Playing Beatie Bow in Year 8 (intriguing!) Worst novels: Heart of Darkness this year (sorry, but it just doesn't interest me at all, although the topic we were doing was interesting)

    English exam failures

Oh, most of my fellow students just remember the essential quotes we'll need and we bluff our way through the essay... but don't do that if you don't know the texts well enough :p Although some people do manage to rememorise every single word... but I'm betting it was just a 900-word essay...

    English exam failures

I do 3 unit English, and I managed to finish all 2 essays and 2 creative stories (a creative story & an essay for Advanced, same thing for Extension) However I think I shoud've expanded my Extension essay - I cut out most of my prepared essay and I think it's really weak now, and I was...

    Change in Enthalpy? (Chemistry)

Hi there. Um, are you sure you've quotes those formulas correctly? Because if my memory serves me correctly, the euqation for delta H should be: (delta H) = - mc (delta T) because it's actually measuring the amount of heat released - this is delta H, the heat released when products +...

    help ASAP

Change is a pretty broad topic - is there a particular area of change you are focusing on? (Like, physical change, emotional/mental change, spiritual change etc) However, it's pretty easy to find related texts for. How about To Kill A Mockingbird? (Classic one, but your English teacher...
