    Running in a new car

Re: Getting new car True- if you need to be hard on brakes a lot it means you were driving too close or not preempting the situation very well. Also for those who consider themselves to be keen drivers, it's worth attending driver training and learning how to control ABS and knowing the point...

    BAcc 2015 Intake

Re: Bachelor of Accounting Scholarship UTS 2015 Co-ops are just a way to try different organisations and experience the role you'll have in them. The key thing to step back and remember is accounting is just like any other specialised back-office function in that it can be a support function of...

    Cadetships 2014

Follow up or call? I think you should have the campus recruitment email or something which you can reply to. Well, which one do you want more? Life is full of choices.

How hard or time consuming would be a combined commerce degree?

I think the key thing with uni is you can't rote learn- typically the strengths which people demonstrate/utilise to do well in the HSC, will hold you back in uni as you try to learn and apply yourself in the same way as what you know best. Having lecturers/teachers who don't care how well you do...

big 4 vs the rest cadetship

I think if people are applying for cadetships, they aren't really looking for the minimal amount of work for maximum amount of money- after all, the main point of the program is to accelerate your development and get an opportunity to see things you wouldn't otherwise get to see until you are a...

    BAcc 2015 Intake

Re: Bachelor of Accounting Scholarship UTS 2015 As far as I know the 95 ATAR requirement isn't absolutely must have but it's really dependent on your application considered as a whole. That is, I know some people in the past who didn't meet the ATAR cut off but in subsequent years, this program...

    Jaguar reveals ‘virtual windscreen’

The question is whether this will ever be used in the mainstream or if it'll be really reserved for performance oriented drivers, or track use. I see it coming in at the same time as autonomous driving but challenge whether the information overload will actually just make things more dangerous...

    Jaguar reveals ‘virtual windscreen’

Not sure if any of you have seen this but Jaguar is currently developing a virtual windscreen concept to take HUDs to a whole new level. Looks pretty impressive but reminds me of a video game (NFS Most Wanted meets Gran Turismo). Link...

Locations aren't static- they seem to change every 10-15 years. And more relevant to this thread; e.g. http://www.smh.com.au/business/barangaroo-gains-tenants-for-tower-1-after-hsbc-and-pwc-sign-on-20140430-37i2c.html In terms of which one to choose, well, it depends which area you're looking...

    FINS1612 and FINS1613

2624 is a killer if you aren't into quant/stats! I actually enjoyed 1612 as it provided a lot of background and basics into finance. It's a nice "friendly" introduction to the major in my opinion.

How hard or time consuming would be a combined commerce degree?

Just remember the discussion above of fitting things into 2 or 3 days doesn't necessarily mean they are the 2 or 3 days which suit you- i.e. your employer will need to offer some flexibility but you should be able to give them the heads up that your timetable will change each sem (i.e. every...

How hard or time consuming would be a combined commerce degree?

But obviously it lengthens your degree. As for how much, depends on whether or not subjects you're doing for one will count for both (or be prereqs).

    Cadetships 2014

I'd just caveat that on some of the larger audit jobs in say financial services, they can potentially take most if not all of your year (although it's generally not recommended for career/technical development)- this does mean you'll work with a certain group of people quite a lot during the year.
