    Cadetships 2014

Well, you did sign a contract... what's the point otherwise? At the end of the day, everything is within reason and you'll just want to be transparent... and they definitely would want to know sooner rather than later if you plan on pulling out so they can resource accordingly. I wouldn't...

    Perks of employment in Audit/Assurance?

It's a quick way to learn a lot of different things, pick up technical skills, develop your own managerial/coaching style, build networks, travel, etc... with minimal industry experience.

What subjects can I choose from if I wanted to major in acct/fins

FINS1612 is much easier but you might need 1613 for some other subjects as a prereq. Best to check and 'map out' your degree if you can taking into account subjects which are either prereqs or can be studied concurrently.

    Perks of employment in Audit/Assurance?

Are you asking from a career/development perspective, or 'perks' in the more common sense (i.e. non-monetary benefits)?

Highest I think is 15k ish... wasn't that keen to do it again but I have to admit it's a great time waster.

    Nintendo 3DS vs 2DS

Ahh just caved in and bought one. It wasn't an easy decision. Bought the 2DS with Pokemon X for NZ$199 (I know Big W has it for $148 in Aussie but that's no help to me here), took it home, didn't open it, kept thinking about the screen size comparison and that I had sacrificed the key...

    Cadetships 2014

I personally wouldn't read too much into timelines- whilst a lot of people get notified within X hours/days, some firms also keep applications in the 'maybe' list so they can contact the candidates if there are less prospects than originally anticipated (or they've just thought about it more).

    Top 'speed' done and where?

I know there's a lot of long stretches of roads there, but how you did that without worrying about being caught for twenty minutes is beyond me. Heck, hitting 180km/h even just to touch it is probably enough to scare people given both the financial penalties and instant suspension for a long time.

    Top 'speed' done and where?

I was thinking more in the context of likely vehicles this guy was using... but I also assumed the Subie symmetrical was just referring to weight balance or left/right or something... I know some performance models are probably rear biased, but given this guy's level of experience (likely new...

    Top 'speed' done and where?

I don't know if I should encourage this behaviour on public roads still.... and if your tail is able to spin out on an AWD car, it worries me... are your tyres okay? What AWD system do you have? Maybe I'm mistaken here but I thought most AWD systems keep it in the front and then transfer to the...

    Top 'speed' done and where?

Isn't accidentally drifting just another way of saying your tyres lost grip and you unintentionally went sideways?

    Cadetships 2014

Super curious what they are! If you aren't confident to share publicly, would you mind PMing me? As mentioned above there are coops. I remember when I was in year 12 there were some construction cadetships offered by Abigroup but not sure what happened since then.

    Cadetships 2014

Think about what the interview you're attending is looking for (i.e. technical competence, personality, etc) and then prepare accordingly. It never hurts to have done some research into the role/company/industry though to show you at least know what you're signing up for and why they should...

    Simple Accounting concept question

Remember, everything has to be taken into context. If the entity is in the business of selling mobile phones, then the mobile phone would be treated as inventory, and the sale of the phone would be against Cost of Goods Sold (i.e. Dr COGS, Cr Inventory). The revenue/cash coming in the door is a...

Offered a place in Accounting/Finance and International Banking/Finance in LONDON

Depends what you define as 'worth it'. As long as you don't go over there with the mindset it guarantees you a good job or you'll have a great living standard (unless you have family wealth to help support you), you'll get to tick off multiple of your personal goals whilst finishing your studies.

    Driving Overseas

Remember when we did the drifting on the lower oval at a certain school's anniversary? Rally car AWD supremacy over German RWD.

Just be calm when you guys do it. No point stressing yourselves out. Half the point of this stuff is to see how well you cope under pressure.
