    Driving Overseas

You say this now but you'd be surprised how quickly you grow out of it. I thought I'd be JDM for life and bought my Evo when I was in my final year of uni... did a few track days, skid pans, etc... but now I prefer the comfort and convenience of a not as fast German saloon. Admittedly the...

    Cadetships 2014

Just remember this is just a step in the process and you want to offer enough to entice them to want to meet you in person- it's not an exercise in cramming your life story into 30 seconds.

    Driving Overseas

If you're willing to go a couple down from F1 I've seen them pop up at track days on occasion (bit unfair IMO!). One of my clients also own a F3 car. eg https://picasaweb.google.com/jace.88/Sepang#5007978357654082082

    Malaysian highways aren't bad either.

    Cadetships 2014

I think it's quite the opposite- a video interview gives you a much better way of demonstrating interpersonal skills than an electronic form or a telephone interview. Before you say it's not reflective of the real world way of human interaction, let me just say- it is.

    Cadetships 2014

I'm sure it isn't natural for most people on both sides of the screen.

    Cadetships 2014

What about people who don't have a video camera? I guess this means neither side is stuck on a certain time to do the call which was always a logistical challenge.

    PS Vita

Can't believe I'm playing my vita alot more than my ps4... Even though I have FIFA on both, the portable ps vita means I can sit at a cafe and play rather than being stuck at home.

Where's the video interview done I wonder..? Do you do it from your own place or do you go into the offices for that?

What to do with laptop during exams?

I used to always drive for my randwick racecourse exams and leave in car. If you don't drive do you have any mates who could hold it for you?

I finally drove an SUV... ask me a question.

Anyone seen new x4? I know reviews weren't that great but I'm really drawn to the 3L diesel (assuming carry over from 330d). Or maybe I just miss the x6m and assume all SUVs drive like that!

    FINS1612 vs FINS1613

1613 was considerably harder than 1612 to me. 1612 is very qualitative and theory focused with minimal calculations whereas 1613 had both more complex theoretical concepts and a need to do calculations. IMO 1613 and 2624 were the hardest of the mandatory finance subjects but then I'm rubbish at...

Relative difficulty of these ACCT/MARK courses?

Haven't done most of those before but ACCT3708 Auditing wasn't too hard. If you plan to work in the field, definitely helps to have done some studies however boring/basic it may be.

    Commerce/Law degree

Commerce. Most people don't end up working in a 'pure' law job but rather they use their skills/experience/knowledge and apply it to other roles.

    Cadetships 2014

Try to figure out the purpose of the interview in the grand scheme of the candidate assessment process and what role the interviewers have in being the decision maker and act accordingly.

    Cadetships 2014

Agreed with this. Everything int he pros/cons is arguable and you can build your name anywhere. Big firms know they have the issue of lots of people so they have divisions, teams, etc to create that more friendly and close-knit atmosphere whilst balancing it with economies of scale in resources...

    Internship dilemma

Just do #1. If you don't happen to make it through, quite a few firms are quite understanding and will either offer you an alternate role with a different title (may or may not have same pay but you won't be able to be promoted to senior until you've graduated) and an understanding/time to help...

    Deferring an accounting cadetship

Depends how much you want this (both the travel/volunteering and the cadetship). You could try to get the cadetship first, and then once accepted, see if they're flexible but there's no guarantee they won't just withdraw the offer if you can't start on the prescribed date. That being said, I've...

    Best degrees for govt/policy?

I'm no expert in this field by any stretch but I'd imagine those who end up in policy/etc are people who have experience in the respective fields themselves.
